Second Overall In Points, Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie Points Leader, Corey Deuser Readies For Lucas Oil Raceway
15-Year-Old getting closer to locking up Freshman Title (Special from Deuser Motorsports)
September 18, 2013
Georgetown, Indiana (September 18, 2013) – With just two points races remaining in the
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance season, 15-year-old Corey
Deuser is in great position to not only lock up the 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of
the Year title, he's also in position to become the highest finishing rookie in JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour history. He helped both causes with another solid top 10 effort in his last
race.

The fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked paved oval of Owosso Speedway, located north of
Jackson and south of Lansing in Springport, Michigan was next on the schedule as the
10th JEGS/CRA points race of the season was the Springport Fall Brawl 100 Presented
by JEGS.com on September 14th. The race was originally scheduled for April 28th, but
Mother Nature won that race and the event was rescheduled.

After Qualifying fourth fastest out of 27 cars on the grounds, the inversion draw would see
the Georgetown, Indiana driver start the main from the inside of the third row. "We were
excited to get back to Springport after being fast in the practice we had back in April
before getting rained out." Deuser stated. "We rolled in to Saturday with high hopes
knowing we had a good race car. I was a little nervous for the race as I always am and
also had a good feeling at the same time." He added.

Deuser quickly worked his way up towards the front and found himself in the lead on lap seven. The Hoosier State teenager paced the field until lap 24 when current points leader, Cody Coughlin was able to get by. "We had gotten hit and knocked the fender out early in the race and it was sticking out." He continued. "We led for awhile, but started getting loose off the corner. Then we got popped in the rear and lost a couple more spots. We started to get green flag runs and unfortunately started to lose breaks and dropped back a few more positions. We ended up P7 and with the two cars in front of us in points not having good nights, we moved up the ladder." Deuser said.

The next race on the 2013 calendar is the P.A.D.D. (People Against Distracted Driving) 100 Presented by Chevrolet Performance & T.J. Racing Lubricants which is part of the McGunegill Engine Performance CRA Fall Brawl 2013 Presented by P.A.D.D., at the 0.686 mile progressively banked paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway, located west of Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana on Saturday-Sunday, September 21-22nd.

"We head back to LOR which with the 12th place finish we had last time, we look to improve that and find a little more speed." Deuser added as he and his Deuser Motorsports Team prepare for the short trip north from southern Indiana. "I also like the way the schedule is laid out where we Practice and Qualify on Saturday and then we race on Sunday." He ended.

In the chase for the 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title, Deuser leads the freshman battle by 50 points over his closest rival. In 10 starts in JEGS/CRA competition, Deuser has four top five finishes with his career high finish of a third twice at Winchester in the last race and prior to that at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana back on July 19th. He also has five top 10 showings as he is now second overall in the season long points standings.

For the rest of the 2013 racing season, Deuser's Red and Silver #14 Ford Fusion which is a Port City Racecars chassis will carry sponsorship support and decals from Focus Eyewear as well as Deuser Electric, Arc Construction Management, Clayton Homes, Lucas Oil Products, RacerBoost.com, Big O Tires, McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H.
