DeWitt, Michigan (September 11, 2013) – After waiting over a month to race and at his
home track to boot, Chad Finley and team left Owosso Speedway on September 7th a bit
disappointed to say the least. Not because of their performance but due to who won it all;
Mother Nature.
“I was disappointed to say the least when they made the decision to cancel the race. We
had so many friends and family there and I really felt like we had a great car to win the
race." The DeWitt, Michigan driver stated. "But there was nothing anyone could do about
it, so now we have to wait to show what we have the rest of the season. Originally we
were going to wait until the CRA Fall Brawl at Lucas Oil Raceway, but the team decided
we needed to go to Springport, so that's what we're doing." He added.
The Springport Fall Brawl 100 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour is this Saturday,
September 14th at Springport Motor Speedway, located south of Lansing and about an
hour from the CFR shops in Springport, Michigan. An impressive entry list has the 21-year-
old Finley excited about his chances at a third career JEGS/CRA win and the first one,
potentially, in his home state of Michigan.
“I have a ton of confidence in our new Port City Racecar and I believe it will be really strong this weekend." Finley continued. "We just need to be racing more and this is a good opportunity to do just that. It’s a late entry for us as we planned on just being ready for LOR next week. Hopefully we can get us a good solid run and get our momentum back. " He ended.
For the rest of the 2013 racing season, all of Finley's #42 Port City Racecars Chevrolets will carry sponsorship decals on each from Auto Value Parts Stores & Certified Service Centers as well as AutoParts2020.com, The Air Lift Company, XLT Engineering, NorthsideTowing.net, McGunegill Engine Performance, Five Star Racecar Bodies, Bassett Racing Wheels, Affordable Tire & Service, Bosch Spark Plugs, Hyperco Suspension, Maurer’s Textiles, Superior Racing Images and M.P.H.
