Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year Points Leader, 15-Year-Old Corey Deuser Looks Ahead To Auto City
Another New Track in store for top Freshman in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour (Special from Deuser Motorsports)
August 8, 2013
Georgetown, Indiana (August 8, 2013) – Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana was the
site of the last JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance event; the
Night of the Stars 100 Presented by JEGS.com on Friday, July 26th. 15-year-old Corey
Deuser was hoping to extend his lead in the chase for the coveted Howie Lettow
Memorial Rookie of the Year title with a good showing at the track where he made his
first career JEGS/CRA start almost a year ago to the day.

After qualifying right  in the middle of the field in 14th out of 29 cars on the grounds, the
Georgetown, Indiana teenager would start the race from the outside of the seventh row in
a stacked field. "We started off the day a little off with me just used to the track again
and how to drive it to be fast. The car felt very good stable and fast, but the times just
weren't showing." The Hoosier State teenager explained.

"We found a little speed in the car, but I was still a little nervous for qualifying luckily I
drew the last spot to go out so I was able to watch the other cars and see what was fast
and what wasn't." He added. After timing in, the race went green and Deuser was able to
pick off a few cars at the start. "We started the race decent and was able to get by a few
cars on the start, which is always the easiest time." He continued. "The race went green for the longest time and the car was free on the longs run and didn't help with how the race had very few cautions. "

After losing a couple of spots in the running order, the team discussed possibly coming in for a quick adjustment. But the crew decided not to and would ride it out. "It wasn't worth loosing spots. With the car still a little free I was able to hold on and we did have a late race restart which did not surprise me. We were able to gain some track position on the restart and was able to grab a 12th place finish and a few donuts and we were the top rookie finisher too." Deuser stated.

The next race on the 2013 JEGS/CRA Schedule is another track that Deuser will not have seen before rolling in for the weekend, the tricky 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Auto City Speedway, located North of Flint in Clio, Michigan on Saturday, August 10th for the Silver Bullet 100 Presented by Coors Light & JEGS.com. "The name of the track is the only thing I know about the place." Deuser laughed. "I've talked to some people and from the sounds of it, it'll fit my driving style, so I'm looking forward to getting there and getting on the track." He ended.

Deuser is on top of the charts by 22 points in the chase for the 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title in JEGS/CRA as eight other freshman are also vying for the coveted crown. Deuser has two top five finishes in 2013 with his career high third at Anderson, he also has two top 10s and is now fourth overall in the season long points standings, 44 points away from the final podium position of third.
