Birch Run, Michigan (August 30, 2013) – When the decision was made to chase after the
2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Championship, Dan
Leeck and his Dan Leeck Racing Team knew there would be the proverbial bumps in the
road along the way. After briefly leading the points, the Birch Run, Michigan driver trails
current points leader, Cody Coughlin going into a pivotal four races in four weekends
stretch.
The first race in that stretch of events for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour is at the fast 1/2
(0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana on
Sunday, September 1st with the running of the Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com
which highlights the first day of the tracks prestigious World Stock Car Festival. This will
be Leeck's first ever appearance at the famed high-banks.
Leeck will head to Winchester on a high note after a podium finish, a career high showing
in JEGS/CRA competition, of a third in the Silver Bullet 100 Presented by Coors Light &
JEGS.com on August 10th at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan, a track that Leeck
had been very successful at in the past and one of four tracks that he was able to cut his
teeth at during the beginning of his career.
"After the third place finish at Auto City in the last race, it really gave my team and I confidence that we are still in the battle for the championship 100%." The 23-year-old remarked. "The team and I have been putting many hours in the race shop in preparation for Winchester as we'll be carrying sponsorship from Mr. Asphalt and Bridge Lake Truck & Auto." Leeck appreciatively added.
After Winchester, the next two tracks are back in the home state of Michigan beginning at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan on September 7th, another track Leeck grew up on and has had a lot of success at. A week later, it's on to the Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan on September 14th before a return trip to Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana on September 21-22nd for the CRA Fall Brawl.
"I really need to thank everyone that has made this season up to this point successful," He continued. "My Parents, Uncle Tom, Jessy, Phillip, Matt and everyone else that is part of Dan Leeck Racing. I really think we are going to get a win before this year is over. Cody (Coughlin) has been tough all year long, but we know we can run with him and everything he's got and that gives us confidence for these last few races." He ended.
So far in 2013 within JEGS/CRA, Leeck is having a career year on the traveling circuit after a very successful run in weekly competition over the past several seasons. In eight JEGS/CRA starts in 2013, he has two top five finishes with a season and career high finish of a third at Auto City Speedway in the tours' last event. He also has an impressive seven top 10 finishes and is just 25 points behind points leader, Coughlin while sitting 29 markers ahead of third place, Tom Woodin.
For the rest of the 2013 racing season, Leeck's bright orange and yellow #12 will carry sponsorship stickers on the side of his Chevrolet Impala from Mr. Asphalt as well as Bridge Lake Truck & Auto, Wellman Excavating, Diesel Truck Sales, Helm Electric, Racecar Engineering, FLF Racecars and M.P.H.
