Freshman Campaign Continues For 18-Year-Old Dominique Van Wieringen

Corunna, Michigan (August 29, 2013) – As 18-year-old Dominique Van Wieringen
continues her freshman season within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by
Chevrolet Performance, the rest of her 2013 racing season will get a bit busier especially
with the series' four races in four weekends stretch in September. Combine that with her
recent move to Charlotte, North Carolina as an international student at the University of
North Carolina / Charlotte, and the Canadian teenagers' schedule is packed from morning
to night.
In the midst of her college studies, the Amherstburg, Ontario teenager will also need to
study another new track on the 2013 JEGS/CRA schedule that she has yet to see; the
legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in
Winchester, Indiana on Sunday, September 1st as the JEGS/CRA teams headline the
first official day of the World Stock Car Festival with the running of the Winchester 100
Presented by JEGS.com.
"This upcoming weekend should be interesting to say the least. I've heard a lot about
Winchester and somewhat prepared for the track." The 18-year-old relayed as she settles
into her new surroundings in the Tar Heel State. "The race also comes at a perfect time for me as I have to drive from Charlotte then back, and the holiday grants me the ability not to miss any classes." She added.
"I've seen a bit of Winchester from my research and can't wait to see it for myself, as it looks very similar to Salem." She continued as her DuroByte Motorsports Team continues preparations for the trip to Eastern Indiana. "The team and I are itching to get back on the track and are preparing extremely well."
In the last JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at the tricky 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Auto City Speedway, located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan as the Silver Bullet 100 Presented by Coors Light & JEGS.com on August 10th, after qualifying seventh quick out of 25 cars, she would start the main from the inside of the fourth row, but unfortunately her race was short lived as an electrical problem just four laps in ended her night early.
"It was a bit upsetting as we couldn't run the race, as we had a broken relay that disabled us from continuing." The Canadian teenager explained. "But we learned and we are prepared to move forward and continue on with our season. We're not out of the rookie of the year title chase and this stretch of four races in four weekends will hopefully show the true capabilities of this entire team." She ended.
Heading into Winchester, she is sixth in a dogfight of a freshman title chase, 102 markers back of the rookie points lead and she is 10th overall in the standings, but only 68 points outside of the coveted top five with four top 15 finishes so far this season.
