Williamsburg, Kentucky (August 28, 2013) – When the 2013 schedule for the JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance came out over the winter, Jerrod Foley
and the J.L.J. Motorsports Team knew a pivotal stretch in September would play a major
role in the outcome of who would emerge as a future titlist in the series. When the race at
Springport Motor Speedway from April 28th was moved to September 14th, it made the
month of September that much more important.
The first of four races in four straight weekends begins on Sunday, September 1st at the
legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester,
Indiana as the Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com highlights the Sunday portion of
the prestigious World Stock Car Festival that highlights the Labor Day Holiday Weekend
of racing at the famed Eastern Indiana high-banks.
"We're going with a new setup and we couldn't be more exited to hit the high banks and
excessive speeds." Foley remarked as he and his family oriented team continue
preparations for the trip to Winchester. "We're hoping we have a few tricks up our sleeves
to throw at all the other competitors and make a run for a win." The 21-year-old Blue
Grass State driver added.
In the last JEGS/CRA race for Foley and crew, the Silver Bullet 100 Presented by Coors
Light & JEGS.com back on August 10th at the uniquely shaped 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-
banked paved oval of Auto City Speedway, located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan, Foley
was in position for the win late in the race and actually taking the lead on lap 89 before a
caution came out. On the ensuing restarts, disaster struck when contact from one car on
a couple of occasions and another car in the closing laps relegated the Williamsburg,
Kentucky driver to a disappointing 11th place showing.
"All in all we had a car to win the race and it came down to drivers that have no respect for other people cars or an understanding for the money when it comes to wrecking equipment." The disappointed driver continued. "I can't say enough about the whole crew and their hard work to get us racing for the lead. Mom (spotter) did one heck of a job keeping us out of trouble, and Dad (crew chief) did way more than ever asked for to get us where we needed to be. A special thanks to all the sponsors and to Port City Racecars." He ended.
Heading into the Winchester race, Foley is fifth in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points standings 34 points back of fourth place. In nine total JEGS/CRA points races so far in 2013 including the non-points race at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia back on January 27th which was part of SpeedFest 2013, Foley has accumulated three top 10 finishes with a season high of sixth coming at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio back on May 25th in the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com.
For the remainder of the 2013 racing season, Foley’s Black and Red JEGS/CRA car, a Chevrolet Impala and the new Yellow ARCA/CRA #04 J.L.J. Motorsports / Port City Racecars entry, a Ford Fusion will both carry sponsorship decals from Quality Care Auto as well as Manton Financial Services, Imprint Warehouse Screen Printing, DAL Fishing Jigs, Advance Auto Parts, Baker Performance Parts, Ace in the Hole Motorsports and M.P.H.
