Rookie Title Chase Continues For 18-Year-Old Dominique Van Wieringen As Lucas Oil Raceway Awaits
Canadian Teenager Now in the Top 10 Overall in JEGS/CRA Points (Special from DuroByte Motorsports)

Corunna, Michigan (July 25, 2013) – Dedication and Perseverance are two words that best describe the 2013
racing season for Amherstburg, Ontario rookie, Dominique Van Wieringen. Despite many trials and tribulations
with adjusting to a template bodied Super Late Model after two seasons of enjoying success behind the wheel
of an outlaw bodied Super Late Model, Van Wieringen has shown flashes of brilliance while competing for the
Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet
Performance.
In her last race at the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana
on July 19th in the running of the Anderson 100 Presented by JEGS.com, she started from the inside of the
eighth row and had worked her way into the top 10 and was up to as high as seventh with just three laps to go
when a tire went down late in the race. She limped home to a 14th place finish.
"Anderson was definitely a different track, one that surprised me even though I was prepared. It was definitely
a short track that reminded me of Spartan (Speedway in Mason, Michigan where she started her career in an
Outlaw Super Late Model)" She explained. "With the practice we had, I had to learn the track and get the car
set in. Thanks to my team, the car was basically good to go except with minor changes. Learning the track
was a little tough but with the help my crew chief (Jimmy D. Smith), I was able to figure it out." She added.
"Qualifying wasn't the greatest as the car was more loose than I expected, but I was still determined for the race." The 18-year-old continued. "I was ready to race my butt off and the race itself was super fun and very on-edge. I'm pretty sure some debris was still on the track from a previous caution, which caused the flat. Very frustrating as I had raced hard and well, but it was a good race and the car came home in one piece." She stated.
The next race on the schedule also marks the halfway point of the 2013 season within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour as the running of the Night of the Stars 100 is set for Friday, July 26th at the immaculate Lucas Oil Raceway, located West of Indianapolis in Clermont, Indiana. This event, co-headlined with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, is also a part of Brickyard Speedweeks in the Circle City.
Heading into the Night of the Stars 100, she is currently fifth in the freshman title chase, 56 markers back of the rookie points lead and she is now back in the top 10 overall in the season long points chase, those same 56 points out of the coveted top five. "I want to give a big thanks to my team and family for all their help and support, as our year hasn't been the greatest but none of us have given up." She ended.
