18-Year-Old Rookie, Dominique Van Wieringen Ready For The Challenges Of Anderson Speedway

Stacked Field of Freshman has Canadian Ready for the rest of the JEGS/CRA Season (Special from DuroByte Motorsports)

Corunna, Michigan (July 17, 2013) – While the 2013 racing season in the JEGS/CRA All-

Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance for 18-year-old Dominique Van Wieringen

has been a learning experience thus far, the Amherstburg, Ontario teenager knows that

it's only a matter of time before a big break out is due for her and the entire DuroByte

Motorsports Team.

As the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Anderson Speedway in Anderson,

Indiana awaits on Friday, July 19th with the running of the Anderson 100 Presented by

JEGS.com, Van Wieringen is ready for the rest of the season to begin after a three-week

break in the JEGS/CRA schedule. "I have to give a big thanks to the entire team. They've

worked so hard to get me back on the track and we're excited about going to Anderson."

She stated.

In her last race, Touchtone Energy 100 Presented by Focus Eyewear & JEGS.com at

Salem Speedway, located north of Louisville, Kentucky in Salem, Indiana back on June

22nd, the fast 0.555 mile high-banked paved oval proved that it's one of the fastest race

tracks in the country. "Salem was a rough day, we had only an hour to practice but during

our first practice session, the right front gave out and the car went to the wall. The team worked hard to get the car back together and back on the track for the last five minutes of practice." She explained.

After Qualifying 16th with a damaged racecar, she would start from the outside of the eighth row and started moving her way towards the front of the field. "I figured out the track during the race and was able to gain some positions during the race. I did spin at one point but there was still plenty of laps left in the race to make up the positions lost."The Canadian teenager continued.

Her night would end though on lap 79 when a multi-car pile-up ensued in front of her leaving her with nowhere to go; "I was caught into it when I was about clear. I hit the wall hard." She said. Van Wieringen had to be transported to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a class five concussion. "After sitting out for a few weeks, thanks to the break in the schedule, we're ready to go and put all of the bad luck of the first few races of the year behind us." She ended.

Going into the Anderson event, she is fifth in the freshman title chase, only 44 points back of the rookie lead while also sitting 11th  overall in the season long points chase, just seven points out of the coveted top 10. Van  Wieringen has shown flashes of contention during the season and now with school behind her, she's hoping to focus solely on the rest of the year.

For the rest of the 2013 racing season, Van Wieringen’s Black #5 Ford Fusion as well as her White #95 Outlaw Super Late Model, which she hopes to climb behind the wheel of soon, as well as her 15-year-old brother, Tristan Van Wieringen's Black #81 open-wheeled Modified will all carry sponsorship stickers on the side of the each machine from primary sponsor: DuroByte Incorporated as well as Nalett Trucking, R-R Salvage, Mert's Specialty Meats and M.P.H.
