Rookie Points Leader, 17-Year-Old Dominique Van Wieringen Heads To A Track She Has Experience On
Missing Her Prom for Dixie Motor Speedway and the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com (Special from DuroByte Motorsports)
June 5, 2013
Corunna, Michigan (June 5, 2013) – Dominique Van Wieringen offered a glimpse of what
she has in store for the stacked field of 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year
title contenders in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance.
After qualifying an impressive fifth quick out of 30 teams on the grounds at Columbus
Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio on May 25th, she ran in the top five for the majority
of the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com.

After getting to as high as third place during the event, the 17-year-old slid up the track
and spun. However, she kept her momentum going and quickly got back going with a
miraculous save, earning the AR Bodies Cool Move of the Race Award. However, the
caution did not come out and she lost several positions as a result. She did fight back
to post a 14th place finish. Despite what the results show, she impressed many on-
lookers and gained a legion of new fans in the Buckeye State.

"Our weekend went well and we were very happy with qualifying fifth. When it came to
race time, I worked my way up to third where I stayed consistently for most of the race.
Then when I was shuffled back a bit on the restart, I was fighting to get back to my spot
when I spun. I saved it but ended up at the rear if the field." She explained. "I'm not disappointed with that race at all and can't help but thank all the people on my team for their help." Despite the spin and resulting finish, Van Wieringen is now the Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year Points Leader while also sitting tied for seventh overall in the season long points standings.

The next race on the JEGS/CRA Schedule is a track where she has seat time before and perhaps a leg up on the rest of the freshman title contenders; the fast 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked d-shaped paved oval of Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan as the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com is a race that Van Wieringen and the entire DuroByte Motorsports crew has been looking forward too.

"The team and I feel very confident in the races to come. Having a good car and race at Columbus, our car is set to go for the Dixie 100. Being a track I have Raced at before, I'm confident that the race will be good with my experience at hand." the Amherstburg, Ontario teenager continued. "I'm excited for this weekend as it is the day of my prom, I'm more than willing to give it up to race though. All in all, the whole team is ready to race and compete once more." She ended.
