Hard-Charger Award At Columbus Has Jimmy Novak Excited For Next JEGS/CRA Race At Home Track
Dixie Motor Speedway next up for former Rookie of the Year at the track in 2010 (Special from Novak Motorsports)

Dryden, Michigan (June 5, 2013) – After missing the first JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Presented by Chevrolet Performance event in Lebanon, Missouri, Jimmy Novak made
the haul from Dryden, Michigan down to Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio
for the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com, the second JEGS/CRA race of
the season. Novak made the long haul worthwhile with an impressive eighth place
showing.

What made the run even more impressive was the fact that the 20-year-old had to win
the 15-Lap Last Chance Race just to get into the show and earn the 23rd starting spot.
After Qualifying a disappointing 22nd and with the series only taking the top 20 out of Qualifying, plus with no points provisional's to fall back on, Novak would have to run the "hooligan" race. He responded by advancing 15 spots to earn the races' Hard-Charger Award.

"Columbus is not one of my favorite tracks, but I knew that we could get a decent finish there. My guys gave me a car that could've ran in the top five all night but I messed up qualifying," Explained Novak. "I hated it for my crew because they worked so hard to get the car better. But at the end of the night we finished a respectable eighth which for starting second to last is an accomplishment in itself. I believe we could've broke the top five but ran out of laps to get up there and restarts killed us all night." He added.

Now Novak will race a lot closer to home in the next JEGS/CRA event; the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com at his home track of Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan, only an hour drive from home and the site of his lone Late Model Feature Win during his amazing 2010 rookie season where he won one of his three Rookie of the Year titles. The other two freshman honors that season came at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan and Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan.

"The whole Novak Motorsports Team is looking forward to our home track Dixie I believe we can get a top five finish for sure." The Dryden, Michigan pilot continued. "Being as it's our home track I would like nothing more than to have a great finish in front of my supporters, family, and friends." He ended.

During the 2012 season, Novak made a single appearance in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour as he competed in the BRAD 100 Presented by JEGS.com back on August 16th and in front of 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, Brad Keselowski, Novak posted a career high fourth place finish. In 2011 he finished eighth overall in the final points standings and was the 2011 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year Runner-Up to top freshman that season, Cody Coughlin.
