Grand Rapids, Michigan (June 5, 2013) – Wes Griffith Jr., knows he has all the tools and
everything else in place for a competitive run at the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Presented by Chevrolet Performance Championship. So far in two races, dumb luck has
been the culprit for his finishes of 17th and 18th respectively. He knows and the KBR
Development team know they are much better than what they've showed so far this
season and hope the third race of the year is the one that shows how strong Team KBR
really is.
The fast 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked paved oval of Dixie Motor Speedway,
located north of Flint and south of Saginaw in Birch Run, Michigan will host the third
race of the 2013 racing season for JEGS/CRA as the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com
is set for Friday, June 7th.
The Crown Point, Indiana veteran has finishes of eighth (2011) and ninth (2012) so he
knows how to get around the tricky d-shaped oval. "All we are lacking at this point is
some luck. Our cars are fast, comfortable and ready to contend for wins, we just need
some luck." Remarked the 45-year-old "We're really looking forward to the next couple of
races and get our season back on track." He added.
As for Griffith Jr's KBR Development Teammate, Brian Campbell, he got to race 19 laps of the 75-lap main that served as the Prelude to the Battle at Berlin on Saturday, June 1st at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. Unfortunately while leading, Mother Nature came calling during the main event forcing Track Officials to postpone the conclusion of the race to Saturday, June 29th where they will finish this event and then run a complete program for the tracks Budweiser Super Late Models.
Prior to the rains, Campbell qualified fourth quick out of 24 cars on hand and he would finish second in his Qualifier Heat Race. "We had a great car all day at Berlin. Where able to get a strong starting spot and get out front, unfortunately we couldn't outrun mother nature." Campbell stated. "Had a great day using it as a warm-up for the upcoming Battle at Berlin 251, looking at the entry list it is going to be a stout field of cars." He added.
After Dixie, both Campbell and Griffith Jr., will be in action throughout the Battle at Berlin 251 Weekend as both drivers will take part in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance portion of the weekend on Friday, June 14th in the Berlin 100 Presented by Boyne Machine Company & JEGS.com. Then Campbell will attempt to pull off the double by competing in the headlining race of the weekend; the Inaugural Battle at Berlin 251 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS.
The 251 also serves as the first jewel in the JEGS Triple Crown Series for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS with a potential $100,000 going to the driver who can win all three legs of the series. After the Battle at Berlin 251, the Triple Crown continues with the continues with the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana on July 20th and concludes with the 42nd running of the Winchester 400.
If a driver can win all three races, they will get a whopping $100,000 bonus. If someone can win two of the three Triple Crown events that driver will receive a $10,000 bonus. If no driver wins two of the Triple Crown events, the driver who accumulates the most points during those three events will receive a $5,000 bonus and the title of Champion of the JEGS/CRA $100,00 Super Late Model Triple Crown.
For the remainder of the 2013 racing season, Griffith Jr's Black #33 KBR Development / Ford Fusion will have sponsorship support from Solid Steel Incorporated, Port City Racecars, and M.P.H.
