Jenison, Michigan (June 5, 2013) – McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) and Ponstein Racing
announce a successful season debut at Columbus Speedway with twelve year old development driver,
Cole Glasson.  Glasson entered the weekend with only three tests in the 400 horsepower late model
and never had seen the Columbus Speedway before hitting the track for Friday’s practice. Cole and the
Ponstein Racing team worked hard on Friday to get Glasson acclimated to the track and driving with
other cars around him. By the end of Friday’s four hour practice session, they felt he had a chance to
make the 24 car main event out of the 30 car field.
The team returned to Columbus Speedway Saturday with that goal in mind and tuned the car during the
one hour practice session before qualifying. However, when practice ended, Cole was sitting in P23 of
the 30 car field and only top 20 spots made the direct transfer to the main event. After the team made
some last minute changes and worked with Cole on what he needed to do differently for the three lap
qualifying run, Glasson took the track last in the qualifying session and needed to run 3/10ths faster
than he had all weekend in order to get the direct transfer spot. Although a tall order, Glasson hit the
track with a goal, and quickly made it reality turning a 14.041 which would put him in the P16 spot and followed it with a 14.09 in his final lap and advancing the twelve year old directly into the main.
Tonya McCallister, MPM’s President and Cole’s agent stated, “We all knew after Cole’s first test that he was ready to make the move into this car, but also understand it is going to be a big learning curve. He continues to amaze us each time he hits the track with not only his feedback, but his attitude in learning and getting better. We can tell he wants to improve in order to achieve his long term goals.”
While Glasson would become the youngest driver to take a green flag in a JEGS/CRA event in the 24 car field, unfortunately his night ended early with a caution that retired him. Glasson stated, “I am so thankful for the opportunities that my team and sponsors have given me, and I need to keep working hard to learn the car and improve my driving”.
He went on to thank his main financial sponsors of AM Technical Solutions and ProSoap.com  as well as his many other sponsors K1RaceGear, Frozen Fire, Dallas Karting Complex, RiceKiller.com, Comet Cleaners, Moonshadow and Tyler Web Design. Cole’s next race is this coming weekend, June 7th at Dixie Motor Speedway.
