Grand Rapids, Michigan (June 21, 2013) – Wes Griffith Jr., and the KBR Development
Team know they have a good driver and a good team surrounding the familiar black #33
whenever they pull into the pits for a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet
Performance event. They also know that the results so far in four events haven't shown
what the entire team is truly capable of and they know they're much better than their ninth
place standing in the points.
In Griffith Jr's last race, the Berlin 100 Presented by Boyne Machine Company &
JEGS.com on June 14th at their home track of Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, the
Crown Point, Indiana veteran qualified right in the middle of the 32-car field as he timed in
16th and would start the race from the outside of the eighth row. After staying out of
trouble throughout the entire event, he would leave the 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked
paved oval with a 13th place showing.
"I really thought we were going to be a little stronger at the KBR home track, just missed
the setup a touch, but we finished the race and learned some things." The 45-year-old
explained. "We'll move on to the next one at Salem Speedway. Very excited to hit the
high-banks. We had a strong run at Winchester last fall so hopefully that will equate and
we can go get a win this weekend before taking a little break." He added.
Next up on the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour schedule is a new track to Griffith Jr., Team KBR and the series itself; The fast 0.555 mile high-banked paved oval of Salem Speedway, located north of Louisville, Kentucky in Salem, Indiana on Saturday, June 22nd for the running of the Touchtone Energy 100 Presented by Focus Eyewear & JEGS.com. This is the fifth race of the season for the series and third weekend in a row before a break in the schedule that lasts until Friday, July 19th at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana.
As for his teammate, Brian Campbell, all focus shifted to the Wyoming, Michigan driver for the next day at Berlin on June 15th for the Inaugural Battle at Berlin 251 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. After Qualifying ninth, Campbell was relegated to a 16th place showing after a late race tangle with another driver.
"Overall had a pretty good weekend. We were fast just not quite there, I think we had a solid top five car for sure and our guys did a great job on pit stops." The 34-year-old from Wyoming, Michigan remarked following the weekend at his home track. "The Battle weekend was a great race overall. Very competitive, the live pits stops added another very exciting element." He ended.
