Closest Track To Home Next For 15-Year-Old Corey Deuser As Historic High-Banks Of Salem Speedway Awaits
Touchtone Energy 100 Presented by Focus Eyewear & JEGS.com Could Be Turning Point (Special from Deuser Motorsports)
June 19, 2013
Georgetown, Indiana (June 19, 2013) – As has been the case all season long for 2013
Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title contender in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Presented by Chevrolet Performance, 15-year-old Corey Deuser will head to another new
track on the schedule to him and his Deuser Motorsports Team. The biggest difference
this time is that the historic high-banks of Salem Speedway is the closest to a home
track for him.

The fast 0.555 mile high-banked paved oval located just 40 minutes north of the
Georgetown, Indiana race shop in Salem, Indiana will host JEGS/CRA for the first time
ever on Saturday, June 22nd in the running of the Touchtone Energy 100 Presented by
Focus Eyewear & JEGs.com. So not only is Deuser going to a new race track for the first
time, but so is the rest of his Freshman counterparts and the entire field for that matter.

"I'm looking forward to Salem. It's new for everybody and I've actually been there before,
but just to test," The Hoosier State teenager revealed. "It's definitely a rough old track and
has one groove to run. I like that though. I finally get to race on the historic surface and it's
real close to home. Plus our primary sponsor, Focus Eyewear is involved in the race as well. This is a big race for the entire team and I." He added.

Deuser is coming off a career high finish of fifth in the last JEGS/CRA race, the Berlin 100 Presented by Boyne Machine Company & JEGS.com at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on June 14th. After Qualifying fourth quick out of 32 cars on the grounds. He nullified the theory of rookies struggling the first time they race on the tricky 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval.

"I was very optimistic about going to Berlin. I had heard it was a very odd track and would be hard to learn quickly. We just wanted to learn the track in Practice and after following some guys that had been there before. We were decent and weren't that far off the pace during practice but there was still room for improvement on my end." He continued. "I saw that Qualifying times pick up a lot and going out close to the back I was able to see what other cars did. I felt our car was slow during Qualifying, but I was surprised that we were P4." He smiled.

After just missing the inversion draw, Deuser would start the race from the outside of the second row. "We felt good about the race. We didn't have to work our way towards the front. All we had to do was just stay there. The car was neutral all race it got a little loose when I didn't hit my marks. We had good battles and came home really clean and with a good top five finish." He ended

With his first career top five run, Deuser moved up to the top of the charts in the chase for the 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title chase becoming the fourth different driver in four races to do so. He holds down a slim three-point lead over fellow rookie Jake Griffin. Deuser also sits seventh overall in the points standings and is only 21 markers outside of the coveted top five.

For the rest of the 2013 racing season in JEGS/CRA competition, Deuser's Red and Silver #14 Ford Fusion which is a Port City Racecars chassis will carry sponsorship support and decals from Focus Eyewear as well as Deuser Electric, Arc Construction Management, Clayton Homes, Lucas Oil Products, RacerBoost.com, Big O Tires, McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H. Promotions.
