Georgetown, Indiana (June 12, 2013) – The biggest challenge that 15-year-old Corey
Deuser will face throughout the 2013 racing season in his efforts to run for the Howie
Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by
Chevrolet Performance is all of the new tracks to him and the Deuser Motorsports Team
will visit throughout the year. Case in point, his last race on June 7th at Dixie Motor
Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan and his next JEGS/CRA event on Friday, June 14th at
Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.
In the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Dixie, the 15-year-old qualified an impressive
12th quick out of 28 cars and after starting the race from the outside of the sixth row,
Deuser was involved in an accident on the 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked d-
shaped paved oval and limped home to a 17th place finish. His teammate, fellow 15-year-
old Hunter Baize was credited with a 22nd place showing.
"We started off the day real solid in practice. We made some changes and went back
out to try to see what the car would do on a long run. in Qualifying I messed up in both
corners but my MEP power made up for my mistake," Explained the Georgetown, Indiana
teenager. "We started off the race just seeing how they would race and wanted to pick them off one by one. but we got involved in a wreck coming out of four and we kept fighting the car try to get the damaged fixed each caution." He added.
With little time to prepare for the next race, the Berlin 100 Presented by Boyne Machine Company & JEGS.com at the tricky 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Berlin Raceway, located west of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan on Friday, June 14th, the Deuser Motorsports Team have their work cut out for them.
"Berlin is another track I've never seen before, but I'm optimistic and also worried cause these are the places where you can get put out the rookie of the year battle." The Hoosier State teenager continued. "We'll keep doing what we've been doing at new tracks and see how it goes." He ended.
Despite performances not to Deuser's liking so far in three JEGS/CRA races, the 15-year-old is currently fourth in the chase for the 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title chase and only 10 markers behind leader Jake Griffin with Dominique Van Wieringen and Baize also right in front of him in a talent laden freshman class within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.
The 2013 racing season began with the 47th annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Florida where Deuser competed in the Pro Late Models division and in four starts, he recorded two top 10 finishes with a Florida Speedweeks high finish of a seventh on night IV on February 18th, his last night in Florida before heading back home for school.
