Grand Rapids, Michigan (May 23, 2013) – The 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by
Chevrolet Performance Championship title chase for Wes Griffith Jr., and Team KBR began with
the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 Presented by JEGS.com at the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-
banked paved oval of Lebanon I-44 Speedway, located southwest of St. Louis in Lebanon, Missouri
on May 18th. Griffith Jr., and the team had high hopes after making the long trip west.
After Qualifying eighth quick out of the 38 teams on the grounds, the Crown Point, Indiana veteran
would start from the outside of the fourth row. After biding his time early in the race, Griffith Jr., was
caught up in a massive pile-up on the front stretch that severely damaged his and several others
entries. After the team worked to repair the car as much as they could under the lengthy red flag
for clean up, Griffith Jr., was able to limp his car around the track for about 40 more laps before
pulling in on lap 68 relegated to a 17th place finish.
"Our car was unbelievable all weekend long. Just extremely fast and handled like a dream." The 45-year-old remarked. "These guys work their tails off, always making things just a bit better, it is great to work with this much experience of a team and equipment. I can't be happier for the job everyone on the team did this weekend." He added.
The second race of the season within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour is set for Memorial Day Weekend Saturday, May 25th at the fast 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked circular shaped paved oval of Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio for the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com. Griffith Jr., and Team KBR is ready to go after a busy week of repairs due to the incident in the Show-Me State.
As for the 17th place finish in Missouri due to an incident not of his doing, Griffith Jr., was point blank about his chances at the 2013 JEGS/CRA title; "Redemption is coming, we are loaded for bear to win races this season. We got caught up in that big wreck there and it was pretty much over." He explained. "We took the car to Port City Racecars to get it repaired and they turned it around lightning fast, we are headed to Columbus to show them what we got. We're excited about returning to Columbus where we had a good car last year but got caught up in a wreck." He ended.
For the remainder of the 2013 racing season, Griffith Jr’s Black #33 will carry the colors of KBR Development as well as sponsorship support from Solid Steel Incorporated, Port City Racecars, and M.P.H. Promotions.
