2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie Title Chase (Take 2) Begins For Dominique Van Wieringen
Canadian Rookie Ready for the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 Presented by JEGS.com (Special from DuroByte Motorsports)
May 15, 2013
Corunna, Michigan (May 15, 2013) – After the scheduled 2013 season opener for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance at Springport Motor Speedway was rained out on April 28th. 17-year-old Dominique Van Wieringen has had extra time to sit back and think about her run at the 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title run as well as her first career start in a Template Bodied Super Late Model.
The wait is now over for the Amherstburg, Ontario teenager as the 2013 door opener for the series will now also be the biggest race in the tours' three-year history as the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 Presented by JEGS.com is this Saturday, May 18th at the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked paved oval of Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri featuring a hefty $8,000 pay day that has attracted the likes of Chase Elliott, Ross Kenseth, Bubba Pollard, reigning JEGS/CRA Champion, Daniel Hemric and a host of others. There are 42 teams pre-entered.
"This weekend is a big race in regards to field size. We're obviously going to have to make the field and do the best we can. But, it's exciting to have a big and very competitive field." The 2012 Springport Motor Speedway Outlaw Super Late Model Track Champion stated. "I can't wait to get on the track and race against all of the notable drivers. We've been doing our homework to prepare, so I believe we're ready." She added.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour was originally to begin at Springport Speedway on April 28, but mother nature put a halt to that event bringing rain to the facility throughout the race day. The cancellation of the Springport event was a major disappointment to both Dominique and her team. After spending many hours testing at the facility they were confident that both the car and driver were ready and prepared for the event. Dominique and her team are hopeful that the event will still place this season.
For the 2013 racing season, Van Wieringen’s Black #5 Template bodied machine, as well as her familiar White #95 Outlaw Super Late Model, and Tristan's Black #81 Modified car nose will carry sponsorship decals on the side of the each entry from primary sponsor: DuroByte Incorporated as well as Nalett Trucking, R-R Salvage, and M.P.H.
