DeWitt, Michigan (May 15, 2013) – The 2013 racing season for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance for Chad Finley and his Chad Finley Racing Team with a trip from DeWitt, Michigan to Lebanon, Missouri for the Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 Presented by JEGS.com on Saturday, May 18th at the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked paved oval of Lebanon I-44 Speedway, located southwest of St. Louis in the middle of the Show-Me State.
“This should be a great race. There are a lot of big names coming to this event. We are ready." The 21-year-old remarked. "We decided to put our crate motor in our Port City car for this race. (Same car that broke the Track Record at South Alabama Speedway in March in the Rattler 250). Being in the shop full time now, we keep learning a little more each day. My Car Chief, Skylar (Drews) and I decided that this would be our best effort until we get a handle on our other cars; which we are pretty close in that regard." He added.
In Finley’s last race, the Border Wars 7-Up 150 at Toledo Speedway back on April 20th, after Qualifying seventh and just missing the inversion of six for the race, the DeWitt, Michigan driver started on the inside of the fourth row and stayed in the top 10 for the first half of the race. After the 15 minute break at lap 76 of the 150-lap main, Finley was fighting for ninth when he cut a right front tire down and spun. After a pit stop to replace the tire, Finley charged his way back through the field and would finish in ninth.
After Lebanon and for the rest of the 2013 season, Finley has plans on not following any one touring series while concentrating on the bigger shows in both his Super Late Model and Pro Late Model throughout the country. The next race on the schedule is at Columbus Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 25th for the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com where he is the defending race winner of the event.
“It is our number one goal to defend our last race win there." The DeWitt, Michigan driver continued. "Anytime you are fortunate enough to get a win let alone your first series win you especially want to repeat when you return. Our program is getting stronger after a lot of unforeseen changes in the off season. So we will just keep digging and do what we can.” He ended.
