Dryden, Michigan (April 26, 2013) – 20-year-old Jimmy Novak spent the majority of the 2012 racing season chasing after the Super Stocks Track Championship at the uniquely shaped 0.393 mile semi-banked paved oval of Auto City Speedway located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan in the tracks weekly Super Stocks division. He finished fourth in the track points while also making  limited appearances in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance.

In his lone JEGS/CRA appearance in 2012, the BRAD 100 Presented by JEGS.com back on August 16th and in front of 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, Brad Keselowski, Novak posted a career high fourth place finish as three of the top five finishers in the event were all Auto City Speedway Super Stocks regulars. “We performed so well at Auto City, that race, the way it played out, we got a little luck on our side and things went our way and we ended up with a great finish in front of a bunch of friends and family.” He stated.

Now with the 2013 campaign for the series set to open its third season of competition, Novak is hoping that by doing well in the Cabin Fever 100 Presented by JEGS.com  at Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan on Sunday, April 28th he will be able to once again travel the entire 2013 schedule within the series like he was able to in 2011 when he finished eighth overall in the final points standings and was the 2011 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year Runner-Up to top freshman that season, Cody Coughlin.

“Hopefully we can keep are nose clean, stay out of trouble and end up with a good finish to start the new season.” The Dryden, Michigan driver continued. “I am looking forward to another very strong season this year racing with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. We are hoping with the addition of our new sponsor that we will be able to run most of the series and be competitive as well. We’re really looking forward to our first race of the year.”

Ferris Industries has come on board as a new sponsor for Novak Racing and has the most interesting history of any major mower manufacture. The company started in 1909 as the Uebler Milking Machine Company, making quality milking machines for small dairy farmers in upstate New York. Times changed, and by the mid 1980’s the company’s profits were disappearing along with the small dairy farms it served.

Not to be deterred, Dave Ferris, one of the descendants of the original founders of the Uebler Milking Machine Company, decided to start making rugged lawn mowers. In 1986, the first hydrostatically driven lawn mower was produced and awarded a patent. 10 years later, the first independent suspension on a riding lawn mower was produced, making history. Ferris is now owned and operated as a division of Briggs and Stratton.

“We are very excited to have Ferris on board as a sponsor of our race team this year and we hope can make this into a long term relationship that will both benefit Ferris Mowers and Novak Motorsports as well.” Novak ended. During the 2010 racing season, Novak won an impressive three Rookie of the Year titles at three different race tracks! Those freshman titles came at Auto City in the tracks Super Stocks division. He also scored those honors at Dixie and Owosso in those tracks’ Pro Late Models division. He also earned Owosso’s 2010 Hard-Charger of the Year award as well for his efforts.

Not only did Novak accomplish a feat that had never been done before, three Rookie of the Year titles in the same season at three different tracks, he shared the honor that season with now 19-year-old Kyle Feeney who accomplished the same exact feat at the exact same three speed plants, only in Feeney’s case, he won his freshman titles in each tracks open-wheeled Modifieds division. Prior to last season, the feat had never been done before and the two drivers became the first two anywhere in the United States to do so.

Beginning with the JEGS/CRA Season Opener at Springport, Novak’s #53 Novak Motorsports Chevrolet Impala will carry primary sponsorship decals from Ferris Industries as well as the family business Novak’s Supply and Equipment, plus  Saginaw Welding Supply and M.P.H. Promotions.
