The 2012 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship team of Scott Neal Racing (SNR) announced today that Landon
Cling would be racing out of their stable in 2013. Cling will be driving the #77 owned and prepared by SNR and
competing for the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance Championship.
Cling, who hails from Tempe, AZ, raced in the PASS Series for Brad Keselowski Racing last year where he
recorded numerous top 3 finishes, and a victory at South Boston Speedway. To prepare for the upcoming
JEGS/CRA season, the team and driver will head down to race in the Pro Late Model portion of the Rattler,
March 16.
“I am looking forward to working with Landon this year,” said team owner Neal. “I had the opportunity to work
with Landon in the ARCA race at Winchester, and the kid showed a lot of talent. He is coming off of one of his
best season’s racing a late model and we are coming off of our incredible year, so we are going to try and add
Landon to the Championship mix, along with our other young talent, Jake Griffin.”
Neal had previously announced that he will be guiding the Rookie of the Year efforts of Jake Griffin as crew
chief for him in the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. “We are planning to run for the Championship with both
drivers, as well as having both drivers run a number of races in the ARCA/CRA Super Series at the start of the
season,” Neal went on to note. “We have been getting our team and equipment ready, and want to start out
with a bunch of races early to focus on building team chemistry and long term success in our championship chases.”
SNR claimed last year’s JEGS/CRA Championship with Daniel Hemric as the driver. Neal will continue to assist Hemric with his racing down south, where he will co-crew chief the Carswell Motorsports 98 team on off weekends.
“We obviously have a lot planned for the coming season,” Neal commented further. “We are coming off of two straight CRA Championships and a record setting season last year. We’ve got some great young drivers and we are always looking for marketing partners to take this exciting and successful ride with us.” For team sponsorship opportunities, interested parties can contact Scott at 317-395-4774.
The next CRA events for both Cling and Griffin will be the season opener for the ARCA/CRA Super Series at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, April 13th. Both will start their championship chases with the season opener for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at Springport Speedway on Sunday April 28th.
