Middletown, Indiana (November 22, 2013) – After winning the 2012 JEGS/CRA All-Stars
Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Championship with driver, Daniel Hemric, Scott
Neal Racing knew it would be a tall order to try and duplicate what was accomplished in
2012 again in 2013. With Hemric moving on and winning the 2013 Southern Super Series
Championship, it would require a special kind of talent to replace someone like Hemric.
While the 2013 season didn't go exactly as planned for SNR, Car Owner and Crew Chief,
Scott Neal is still determined to get his machine into victory lane before the end of the
year. So Neal and crew will be heading south to Five Flags Speedway (FL) to take part in
the 15th annual Snowflake 100 which serves as the headliners of the Saturday, December
7th portion of the 46th annual Snowball Derby. Behind the wheel of the SNR machine will
be Dryden, Michigan driver, Jimmy Novak.
"I'm really looking forward to going down to the Snowflake and getting to work with Scott
again. Our last two races didn't go quite as expected with some unexpected motor issues
during practice, but we still had some good finishes for the bad luck we had." The 20-year-
old remarked. "I'm pretty confident we can go down to there with some better luck, and
working with Scott, we can get the car where it needs to be and have a good run down
there. I would like to thank all my sponsors for making this trip possible." He added.
Neal is just as excited about the trip as his driver is as he and his crew prepare for the trip south from Middletown, Indiana. "We're looking forward to working with Jimmy, he has ran really well in the past couple years and I've had my eye on his talent." Neal offered. "With our cars and set up and his Talent behind the wheel, we plan on being a player for a victory at Pensacola." He added.
Scott Neal Racing finished fourth in the final 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Owners Points Standings with six different drivers behind the wheel of the 2012 Championship Winning entry. Landon Cling started the season in the car while NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers, Kenny Wallace and Johanna Long also took their turns behind the wheel. In addition, 2012 Snowball Derby Winner, Erik Jones raced the machine, Novak ran the car on three occasions and even Neal himself drove a handful of races.
Overall, the team acquired one top five finish, which was a third in the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Dixie Motor Speedway (MI) on June 7th with Cling behind the wheel. A total of five top 10 showings and one Fast Qualifier Award, by Neal himself on August 10th at Auto City Speedway (MI) showed the perseverance and dedication the entire SNR team had despite a season of musical drivers.
Novak himself did finish 14th in the final JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Drivers Points Standings with three top 10 finishes including an impressive sixth place finish in the P.A.D.D. (People Against Distracted Driving) 100 Presented by Chevrolet Performance & T..J. Racing Lubricants at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) on September 22nd. His season high finish came in the SNR entry.
The team will race Novak's familiar #53 sporting a Hamke Chassis with sponsorship support from Novak’s Supply and Equipment as well as Ferris Commercial Mowers, Saginaw Welding Supply, Mikel Knepley Designs, Schoenfeld Headers, Ultra Cool Brake Fans, Motion Motors, PGG Enterprises, QS Components and M.P.H.
