Johnny and Butch VanDoorn to Manage Racing Operations for Hunter Baize Racing in 2014
Team to Compete for 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship (Special from Hunter Baize Racing)
November 19, 2013
Bremen, Kentucky (November 19, 2013) – Hunter Baize Racing owner Robbie Baize
announced today that brothers Johnny and Butch VanDoorn, from Coopersville, Michigan,
have been hired to manage the racing operations for Hunter Baize Racing for the upcoming
2014 race season. Hunter Baize will race primarily with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Presented by Chevrolet in 2014, the 15 year old will be competing for the Season
Championship and looking to get his first series win.

“I’ve been working on this for about four months,” remarked Robbie Baize. “I don’t think I
could have asked for a better set up for our race team and Hunter then to have these two
fine gentlemen working with us for the 2014 season. With all their knowledge and
experience, I feel we will have a legitimate shot at winning the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
Championship in 2014 and we will be competing for series wins!”

Johnny VanDoorn is a three time ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Champion,
winning Season Championships in 2009, 2010 and again in 2012 to tie Scott Hantz with
the most series Championships. VanDoorn ran a limited series schedule in 2013, but still
scored series wins in the inaugural Border Wars 7UP 150 at Toledo Speedway, the Berlin
251 at Berlin Raceway, the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway and won the Labor Day
Weekend event at Winchester Speedway. VanDoorn was one win away from claiming the
JEGS/CRA Super Late Model Triple Crown if he could have won the Winchester 400, which would have been a $100,000 payday. Rear-end problems kept VanDoorn from getting that win at Winchester, but he still collected a $10,000 bonus for winning two of the three events in the Triple Crown.

Younger brother Butch VanDoorn also has an impressive resume as a CRA Championship winning Crew Chief. Butch turned the wrenches for older brother Johnny in his first two CRA Championships and was the Crew Chief for inaugural JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion Erik Jones. Butch was reunited with Johnny in 2013, helping him to his big wins. VanDoorn has also become known as one of the top set-up and shock specialist guys in late model racing.

Bremen, Kentucky native Hunter Baize finished ninth in 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points with two top 10 finishes, including a season high finish of sixth at the series event at Winchester Speedway on Winchester 400 Weekend. The new team is set to debut at SpeedFest 2014 at Watermelon Capital Speedway on January 26th. They will then look to gain more experience running events at New Smyrna Speedway during the World Series of Stock Car Racing in February before starting their quest for the 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship.
