Jerrod Foley Hopes Snowflake 100 Will End 2013 On A High Note
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Competitor Closing Out Year In Florida (Special from J.L.J. Motorsports)
November 14, 2013
Williamsburg, Kentucky (November 14, 2013) – After completing the 2013 racing season
within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, where he
finished fifth in the final points standings, Jerrod Foley and the J.L.J. Motorsports Team
were seemingly done with the racing season until the calendar turned over 2014. That was
before Jared Smith Racing stepped in. Now the Williamsburg, Kentucky driver is preparing
to embark on the biggest Pro Late Models race in the country.

The 46th annual Snowball Derby week, set for December 4-8th is at the fast 1/2 (0.500)
mile high-banked paved oval of Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. The Saturday,
December 7th portion of the week will feature the Pro Late Models in the running of the
Snowflake 100. Foley and the crew know they have their work cut out for them, but by
running in the premier template bodied / crate motor series in the country, the team feels
they are ready to compete and take on all comers.

"We're pretty busy with getting the car ready and roll out to Pensacola. We just can't
thank Jared Smith Racing enough for joining the team as a primary sponsor to get us back
on the track." The excited 21-year-old stated. "We've been capable of winning in JEGS/
CRA the last two seasons. We've been right there, but we just haven't gotten that win yet.
Maybe we can show everyone what we're capable of in the Snowflake, end 2013 on a high note and give us momentum going into 2014 with JEGS/CRA." He added.

In Foley's last race, the Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com at the legendary and fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana which kicked off the 42nd running of the Winchester 400 weekend at the famed Eastern Indiana oval, he brought home a ninth place finish which was good enough to stay in the top five in the final points standings by a single point over Dominique Van Wieringen.

"We stayed up towards the top of the first practice charts with old tires and knew we would have a race car to compete for a win." The Blue Grass State driver continued. "We didn't qualify as perfect as we desired, but we was in the race and very comfortable with the handling of the car. When the green flag dropped, we moved forward, getting to the top five rather quickly." He added.

Foley worked his way up to second and was challenging for the lead when a right front tire was going flat, forcing Foley to pit under a caution flag. After climbing back into the top 10, another flat tire, this time the right rear, forced him to pit once more.  "At that point we didn't expect the car to be near as good with both right side tires being old and pre raced, but we were wrong. Man the car was a rocket." Foley explained.

He managed to climb back into the top five once again and soon found himself back to second and again challenging for the lead. Unfortunately with 10 laps to go, Foley slapped the front stretch wall, but he still finished ninth. "All in all we couldn't do anything except be mad that we had a wrecked car. But looking at the weekend, it was an accomplishment to be the fastest car on the track running two-three tenths faster than the rest of the field at any given time. We're easily capable of a win in JEGS/CRA and we know that now." He ended.

Foley finished fifth in the final JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points standings as in 13 total JEGS/CRA points races during the 2013 racing season, Foley collected one top five finish, which was a season high fifth place effort at Springport Motor Speedway (MI) on September 14th to go with five top 10 showings. Nine of those 13 events results in at least a top 15 finish.

During the Snowflake 100, Foley’s #04 J.L.J. Motorsports / Port City Racecars entry will carry sponsorship decals from Jared Smith Racing and Quality Care Auto Service as well as Manton Financial Services, Imprint Warehouse Screen Printing, DAL Fishing Jigs, Advance Auto Parts, Baker Performance Parts, Ace in the Hole Motorsports and M.P.H. Promotions.
