Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie Points Leader, Corey Deuser To Clinch Freshman Title At Winchester
15-Year-Old Needs to Only Start to Lock Up Coveted Trophy (Special from Deuser Motorsports)
October 9, 2013
Georgetown, Indiana (October 9, 2013) – The goal at the start of the 2013 racing season
for 15-year-old  Corey Deuser was to chase after the coveted Howie Lettow Memorial
Rookie of the Year title in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet
Performance. When he takes the green flag for the Winchester 100 Presented by
JEGS.com on Friday, October 11th at the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved
oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana, Deuser can check off 'Rookie Title'
on his list.

The Georgetown, Indiana teenager, with one accomplishment on his agenda completed,
will now go after one more task; to Win a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Points race in his
freshman season. Something that was done by fellow rookie, Dominique Van Wieringen in
the last event at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana on September 22nd. Deuser
came away with an eighth place finish and more importantly, put the Rookie title nearly
out of reach for any of the other fellow first year competitors.

After qualifying fifth quick and with the invert a five, Deuser would start the P.A.D.D.
(People Against Distracted Driving) 100 Presented by Chevrolet Performance & T.J. Racing
Lubricants from P1. "We felt good about the race. We had a good start, but being on the
bottom we were not able to get a good run off of the corner." He explained. "We rode in
third for a while and thought we had a good shot when the caution came out for the only time. But on the restart, the car would start to get loose off and after the long run would fall off." Deuser added.

As for Winchester, Deuser also has hopes of securing the runner-up spot overall in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points standings and feels he has a good chance at finishing in the second position. "Winchester is a fun track, high-banked and really fast." The Georgetown, Indiana driver continued. "We finished third last time so I would like to improve two positions on that and get a win for my team. It's a big race being 400 weekend also." He ended.

The soon to be crowned 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year has a nearly insurmountable 88-point advantage over his closest pursuer. In 11 starts in JEGS/CRA competition, Deuser has four top five finishes with his career high finish of a third twice at Winchester as well as at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana back on July 19th. He also has six top 10 showings in his rookie campaign.

For the remainder of the 2013 racing season, Deuser's Red and Silver #14 Ford Fusion, a Port City Racecars chassis will carry sponsorship support and decals from Focus Eyewear as well as Deuser Electric, Arc Construction Management, Clayton Homes, Lucas Oil Products, RacerBoost.com, Big O Tires, McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H.
