Matt Hall Looks To Make The Most Of ARCA/CRA Super Series' Inaugural Appearance At Kil-Kare Speedway
Limited Appearances in 2013 have Michigan driver ready for the rest of the year (Special from Matt Hall Motorsports)
September 11, 2013
Newport, Michigan (September 11, 2013) – After taking the 2012 racing season off to
focus on his college studies at Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana, Matt
Hall has been patiently getting his race program back in track for a late run for the rest of
the 2013 racing season. The Newport, Michigan driver has made two appearances so far
in 2013 to primarily shake the rust off from not racing at all the season before.

After attempting to make his first start in almost two seasons back on April 20th at Toledo
Speedway in Toledo, Ohio for the Border Wars 150 combination race pitting the ARCA/
CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS against the traveling invaders from the ARCA
Midwest Tour, his second outing was considerably better on August 17th at Flat Rock
Speedway in Flat Rock, Michigan in ARCA/CRA competition as he qualified an impressive
sixth quick and starting third after the inversion draw. He lost power steering early in the
race on the tight 1/4 mile and was relegated to a 15th place showing.

Now with the current season almost over in most parts of the country, the 20-year-old is
looking forward to some of the season ending events around the Midwest in an effort to
build some momentum for the 2014 campaign. His third race of the season is this
Sunday, September 15th at the uniquely shaped 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved
oval of Kil-Kare Speedway, located southeast of Dayton in Xenia, Ohio as the ARCA/CRA
Super Series visits for the first time ever with the running of the Buckminn's D&D Harley-Davidson/Oakley Blacktop 125.

"After building a new car over the winter, Toledo unfortunately was the first time the car seen the track and we had a poor performance due to many issues that had to be resolved."Hall explained. "Flat Rock was a much better effort after the issues were resolved. Qualifying sixth in a very tight field and starting third had us pretty well satisfied. After losing power steering three laps in the bad luck continued. Now that another issues is repaired we are excited to visit a track I have personally never driven before."He added.

"It will be another learning experience at Kil-Kare especially with no practice before race day, but it is no feat I think we can't accomplish." The Great Lakes State driver continued. "My goal is to have a solid run here and bring the car home intact. Our crew is feeling confident after the car we had at Flat Rock. We will give it all we have and keep getting better each and every time we touch the racetrack." He ended.

After the Kil-Kare event, Hall and his Matt Hall Motorsports Team hope to make at least two more appearances yet this season. One with the ARCA/CRA Super Series at the immaculate at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana on September 21-22nd for the ARCA/CRA portion of the CRA Fall Brawl.

Then after LOR, plans call for Hall to race in Day I of the Winchester 400 Weekend on Friday, October 11th with the  JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance who headline opening night of the prestigious weekend at the famed high-banks. A track where Hall has won at before in what was the last ever event for the now defunct Super Pro Late Model Series, which combined with the old Varney Late Model Series, eventually became what today is known as the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.

Hall started his racing career in Go-Karts in 2001 at the age of seven and went on to be the track champion in 2002 and backed that up with another title in 2003. In 2004-2006 he continued racing Go-Karts indoors and at select dirt tracks before and stepping up to the Micro Sprints in 2007. Later in, he stepped up into a full-size car and made six starts in a Four-Cylinder and won the first race he entered following by many top five finishes.

In 2008, the Great Lakes State teenager made the big jump to full-size Late Models and ran the full season with the Super Pro Late Model Series while also making select appearances in the USPRO Cup Series, a sub series to the now defunct ASA Late Model Series.  He finished fifth overall in Super Pro points and captured the Rookie of the Year title while Crew Chief, Brian Moore was awarded the Crew Chief of the Year award in the series.

In 2009 and despite a trying season. Hall regrouped in that last race with the new car and brought home a season high fourth place finish in that last race to save a final top 10 finish in the Super Pro points standings. The 2010 racing season saw Hall qualify in the top three in every Super Pro Series race held. But a hard crash at Winchester Speedway in August had the rest of the season in doubt for the team. They regrouped the best way possible though in a return trip to the high-banks and would win the Winchester 50 en route to salvaging a 10th place finish in the final points standings for the second year in a row in what would be the last year for the series.

In 2011, Hall started the season making a run for the Rookie of the Year title in what is now the ARCA/CRA Super Series and finished 17th in the points standings despite missing five races. His best finish was in the 2011 Season Opener at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana where he scored an eighth place showing. He also made select appearances in the ARCA Truck Series when his CRA schedule allowed.

For the  Kil-Kare race and for the rest of the 2013 racing season, Hall's black #04 Chevrolet Impala with a McGunegill Sealed Engine under the hood, will sport sponsorship support and decals from Schall Automotive as well as LMC Electric, Frenchtown Harbor Condos, Matrix Paint Systems and M.P.H. Promotions.
