2013 ARCA/CRA Rookie Of The Year Title Chase Getting Closer As Brandon Oakley  Continues Chipping Away
19-Year-Old Gaining Ground In Freshman Battle (Special from Brandon Oakley Racing)
August 8, 2013
Beavercreek, Ohio (August 8, 2013) – For the second ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered
by JEGS race in a row, Brandon Oakley continues to chip away at Rookie of the Year
Points Leader, Ali Kern's stranglehold on the freshman title. For the second race in a row,
Oakley would sweep all of the post-race  Rookie Awards from the Tri-State Car Collector
Appraising 125 Presented by T.A.A.G. Incorporated at Berlin Raceway in Marne,
Michigan on August 3rd after a hard fought 13th place finish on a tough track after
starting in 20th.

"We had a really good car at Berlin. It should've been in the top 10, but we got loose on
the long green flag run and ended up going a lap down." Explained the Beavercreek, Ohio
driver. "We could run with the top eight all day long on a short run. But we finished ahead
of Ali (Kern) and that's what we need to keep doing if we're going to contend for this
Rookie title. I know it's just her and I now and I'm sure she's watching everything I do just
like we're watching everything they do." He added.

Now Oakley and his Brandon Oakley Racing Team will make the long trip West and then
north for the second ARCA/CRA Super Series / ARCA Midwest Tour combination race of
the season as Border Wars 150 Part II is at the fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Madison International Speedway, located south of Madison in Oregon, Wisconsin. "I'm excited about Madison," Oakley Continued. "(Crew Chief) Gary (St. Amant) has raced there in the past, and hopefully us and the rest of the team can get the car where it needs to be." He ended.

Oakley remains second in the Rookie of the Year title chase, and for the second week in a row has closed the gap as the deficit is now only 16 points behind Kern in the freshman title chase. Overall in the ARCA/CRA Super Series in 2013, Oakley is an impressive fifth in the season long points chase those same 16 points back for the fourth position and just 38 points outside of the coveted top three. His season high finish is an 11th in the non-points SpeedFest 2013 back on January 27th at Watermelon Capital Speedway in  Cordele, Georgia.
