Glen Ellyn, Illinois (August 29, 2013) – After winning the Anderson 100 Presented by
JEGS.com back on July 20th, Trent Snyder was in the unusual position of looking for a
ride for the remainder of the 2013 racing season. The Glen Ellyn, Illinois veteran was
coming off his third consecutive victory in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by
Chevrolet Performance at the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval, yet the lack of
funds due to repairing his car from a wreck back in May at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in
Lebanon, Missouri left Snyder in a difficult position.
Fast forward almost two months later and Snyder is not only preparing his familiar black
and blue #88 for the next JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour race on the schedule; the Winchester
100 Presented by JEGS.com on Sunday, September 1st, the 29-year-old will be doing
double-duty at the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester
Speedway in Winchester, Indiana as he'll climb behind the wheel of the Tim Bennett
owned #21 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS entry and compete on Labor Day
Monday, September 2nd in the Winchester 100.
"Man I'm really excited to say the least about this new opportunity with Tim Bennett and
the #21 ARCA CRA Super Series team. I have been looking to do more racing so it was
pretty cool to get the call from Tim last week asking to drive his car." Snyder remarked.
"He's a great guy and can't thank him enough for the opportunity. I've heard a lot of good
things about 21 team and crew chief Jeremy Jackson, so really looking forward to working
with everyone associated with the car." He added.
Sponsors on the #21 machine, a Port City Racecars chassis and driven this season
previously by Joe Beaver, Derrick Griffin and Bret Miles Jr., to maintain a sixth place
standing in the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Owners Points includes Tim's Heating &
Cooling as well as Dad's Truck & Auto Repair, T.J. Racing Lubricants, G-Mack Graphics
and McGunegill Engine Performance. In two previous ARCA/CRA Super Series starts,
one coming in 2006 at Lucas Oil Raceway and his last event, at Winchester during the
2009 Winchester 400, Snyder scored finishes of 14th at LOR and a ninth place showing
in his lone 400 start.
"This is a big deal for me, because I just don't have the financial backing to do more
racing on my own." The Glen Ellyn, Illinois driver continued. "I'm really hoping for a solid run and building on the new relationship for the remainder of the season. Hopefully after this weekend, we'll be able to race the car a few more times yet this season. There's three more points races and the two non-points events in Tennessee at the end of the year, so we'll see, fingers crossed." He smiled.
As for his own #88, it'll be the first time his own car has seen any race track since his Anderson win. "I can't wait to get back to Winchester. We've had a lot of success there, plus I get to do 'double-duty' at one of the most historic tracks in the world." He continued. "We've been so close to victory at the famous high banks and think we have a great shot at this win! Especially after winning our last race at Anderson Speedway." He added. In the three previous JEGS/CRA races at Winchester, Snyder has finished second twice and eighth once.
"I owe a huge thanks to my sponsors that have supported me this season. They knew coming into the year that we wouldn't be racing much." He ended.
