19-Year-Old Brandon Oakley Readies For Two Chances To Take Over Rookie Points Lead
Buckeye State Teenager Heading North to Michigan for Two Events in Two Days (Special from Brandon Oakley Racing)
August 15, 2013
Beavercreek, Ohio (August 15, 2013) – Brandon Oakley and his Brandon Oakley Racing
Team made the long trip West for the second ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS
versus ARCA Midwest Tour combination race of the season as Border Wars 150 Part II
was at the fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Madison International
Speedway, located south of Madison in Oregon, Wisconsin on August 11th.

For the ARCA/CRA Super Series competitors, it was a guaranteed 80 points for those
teams that made the haul to the Cheese State as the event adhered to the procedures of
the ARCA Midwest Tour with Qualifier Heat Races added to the mix. With only those
finishing in the top 10 in the main getting more than the allotted 80 points, Oakley and
the Brandon Oakley Racing Team decided to park their machine at the lap 75 halfway
break and in turn get a head start on the long journey back to Ohio to prepare for the next
two races on the schedule.

The Michigan Doubleheader Weekend for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS
is set for Friday, August 16th with the running of the Mid-Michigan Toyota Dealers / Draper
125 at Auto City Speedway, located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan followed by the 7-Up 125 the next night; Saturday, August 17th at Flat Rock Speedway , located south of Detroit in Flat Rock, Michigan.

"All we cared about at Madison was staying with or near Ali (Kern) as we're battling her for the Rookie title." Explained the 19-year-old while preparing for the two races in two days weekend in the Great Lakes State. "I know it's just her and I now with Anderson (Bowen) out of the picture and I'm sure she's watching everything I do just like we're watching everything they do. After she dropped out, we couldn't advance any more spots and with the points system for the race the way it was, there was no sense in taking a chance on tearing up equipment." He added.

"Now we've got two shows in two days and it's a great opportunity for us to gain some more ground on the rookie points lead," The Beavercreek, Ohio driver continued. "We're real solid in fifth overall in points which is such an accomplishment for this team especially in this series. Looking forward to heading back up to Michigan for the weekend and have some fun." He ended.

Oakley is still in second place in the Rookie of the Year title chase only 16 points behind Kern in the freshman title chase. Overall in the ARCA/CRA Super Series in 2013, Oakley is an impressive fifth in the season long points chase those same 16 points back for the fourth position and just 38 points outside of the coveted top three. His season high finish is an 11th in the non-points SpeedFest 2013 back on January 27th at Watermelon Capital Speedway in  Cordele, Georgia.
