Rookie Points Leader, Ali Kern Is Looking Forward To Michigan Doubleheader Weekend
Auto City and Flat Rock Offer Chance to Extend Freshman Point Advantage (Special from Lorz Motorsports)
August 15, 2013
Midlothian, Illinois (August 15, 2013) – Ali Kern and her Lorz Motorsports Team knew
going into Border Wars 150 Part II at the fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of
Madison International Speedway, located south of Madison in Oregon, Wisconsin on
August 11th that her and her ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS counterparts
were in for a battle against the 'home team'; the ARCA Midwest Tour Presented by SCAG
Power Equipment & Lester Buildings.

It was also Kern, the current ARCA/CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year Points Leader's
first trip to the state of Wisconsin so the deck was certainly stacked against the
Fremont, Ohio competitor. First I would like to thank the ARCA Midwest Tour for hosting
the race at Madison.  They were very welcoming and their field of drivers was stacked full
of talent and they raced really clean." She stated.

The 20-year-old would start the 150-lap main from deep in the field in 23rd and quickly
worked her way into the top 20. " I was having a lot of fun running this fast race track for
the first time and moving up in the field.  We lost the brakes just before the halfway mark
and decided to call it a night.  With the point system for this race we didn't lose anything
and nobody gained either." She explained.

There isn't much time to turn equipment around for the Lorz Motorsports Team as a
Michigan Doubleheader Weekend is on tap beginning on Friday, August 16th at the tricky 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Auto City Speedway, located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan for the Mid-Michigan Toyota Dealers / Draper 125 followed by a 90-minute drive south the next day; Saturday, August 17th at the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile semi-banked paved oval of Flat Rock Speedway, located south of Detroit in Flat Rock, Michigan for the 7-Up 125.

"We are ready for the doubleheader weekend and hoping to change our luck a little." Remarked Lorz Motorsports Car Owner, Mike Lorz. "Last week at Madison we had a good run going, so we need stay focused for this weekend and have some good finishes. It has been a long four weeks in row and now finishing it with two races in one weekend. we will be loaded and ready to go both nights." He added.

"This weekend is going to be crazy with back to back races at Auto City and Flat Rock.  I'm excited to run at Auto City again and to finally get to compete at Flat Rock which is less than an hour from home." The Buckeye State freshman continued. "Plus,  Saturday is my Mom's Birthday and she works really hard for our team so I think we should celebrate her Birthday with two really good finishes this weekend." She ended.

"I would like to thank the team and our driver Ali (Kern) for all their hard work. It takes a lot to run up front in this series. Added Lorz. "I know we have the driver and crew to push forward and to get better that's what it takes in this business." He ended.

In the ARCA/CRA Super Series season, Kern is fourth in the season long points chase, just 22 markers outside of the podium position of third with two top 10 finishes including a season high of seventh at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana back on June 29th.
