Walker, Michigan (August 15, 2013) – In an effort to gain some quality seat time for the
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS race, the Mid-Michigan Toyota Dealers /
Draper 125 on Friday, August 16th at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan, Brandon
Hermiller and the H.S. Die / VISI-TST Ford Racing Team made the trip over to the
uniquely shaped 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval located north of Flint,
Michigan a week early.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance was there for the
running of the Silver Bullet 100 Presented by Coors Light & JEGS.com on August 10th
and Hermiller tried to make the most of the extra laps at the tricky egg-shaped track
against the JEGS/CRA field. 25 cars were on hand and after qualifying an impressive
third quick, the inversion draw would see Hermiller's #6 H.S. Die & Engineering / Ford
start the 100-lap main from the outside of the front row.
The Walker, Michigan driver fell back in line during the early stages of the race and was
back in eighth spot late in the event. At the end of the race, the 20-year-old was shown
12th in the final rundown. But for Hermiller it was still a good race as they tried different
things and know what to do now when they head back to the Eastern Michigan speed
plant with the ARCA/CRA car.
"It was a good race for us, but a bad race for us at the same time. The car was fast the whole night, but at the end of the race I decided to try and pick up a couple positions on the last lap and it didn't work out for us." Hermiller explained. "I'm looking forward to going back to there in the Super and giving it another shot. We should have a fast car." He added.
Now Hermiller and crew are armed with a few pages of notes and will return to Auto City, this time with the Super Late Model and by merely starting the 125-lap race, he will move up the points ladder despite missing a couple of shows in the premier tour with CRA. At the minimum, he'll leave Auto City eighth in the standings and could climb to as high as sixth with a good showing.
In addition and after Auto City, Hermiller will head back towards home and participate at his home track of Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, only 10 minutes from the race shop, to compete in the tracks' Budweiser Super Late Models Series
