Rookie Points Leader, Ali Kern Set For Return Trip To Berlin Raceway Looking For Redemption
Rookie Points Leader is also Fourth Overall in ARCA/CRA Points (Special from Lorz Motorsports)

Midlothian, Illinois (July 31, 2013) – Current Rookie of the Year Points Leader in the
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, Ali Kern knows that her and her Lorz
Motorsports Team are solid contenders in the premier series for Super Late Models in
the country. Now all her and her team are looking for is just a little bit of good luck to
propel them into the next level.

In her last race, the Night of the Stars 100 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana
on July 26th, she was one of the fastest cars of the day in Practice, but that speed
didn't quite transfer over to Qualifying nor in the race as the Fremont, Ohio freshman
qualified a disappointing 23rd and finished the race in 20th, losing some valuable points
to fellow Rookie title contender, Brandon Oakley in the process.

"We were a bit disappointed with our finish at LOR last weekend. We did some testing
there on Thursday and then Friday during the first practice we laid down a couple of
good laps.  Unfortunately we were fighting a loose car during qualifying and the race."
The 20-year-old explained. "The good news is I'm still leading in the ROTY points and
we're currently sitting fourth in drivers points." She added.

The next race on the schedule is the third race in three weekends for the Lorz Motorsports team as the Tri-State Collector Car Appraising 125 Presented by T.A.A.G. Incorporated at Berlin Raceway, located west of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan is this Saturday, August 3rd. This event was originally scheduled for May 11th but the race was rained out and reset for 'Duck Dynasty Night' at the track at the track as television stars from the hit series on the A&E Channel will be in town signing autographs and serving as Grand Marshals for the race.

"I'm looking forward to going back to Berlin Raceway this weekend.  It's a challenging track and the local competition is pretty intense." She continued. "We just need to stay focused and finish up front in our Crown Battery sponsored Port City race car. I'm confident our crew will have the car dialed in and ready to go." She ended.

"We are ready to go back to Berlin and have a good run. Last time there we had a good car. We  just  missed the show by two spots. But then got caught up in crash in last chance race." added Lorz Motorsports Car Owner, Mike Lorz. "We feel good about the return trip to Berlin. Last week at Indy was not the finish we were looking, but most important is that we finished the race." He added.

"Ali did the best she could do with the very loose race car. we just could not get the handle on it. we need to work on that for her so we have better run the next time back there in September." Lorz continued as he and the entire Lorz Motorsports Team continued preparations for the return trip to West Michigan. "Sometimes that’s just racing some weeks are good some could be bad just got to make the best of it." He ended.

Overall in the ARCA/CRA Super Series season, Kern is fourth in the season long points chase with two top 10 finishes including a season high of seventh at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana back on June 29th. Her other top 10 is a 10th in the series' last race at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana back on May 4th. She leads the Rookie of the Year standings by 30 points over Brandon Oakley.
