DeWitt, Michigan (July 30, 2013) – The Chad Finley Racing Team got back into race
mode in a big way on July 26th at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana for the Night
of the Stars Twin 100s as the DeWitt, Michigan driver entered both legs of the twin 100s
bringing his old reliable ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS machine as well as
a brand new Port City Racecars chassis for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by
Chevrolet Performance race.
After Qualifying Second quick in the JEGS/CRA car in the midst of a 29-car field, the 21-
year-old went out and won his second career Fast Qualifier Award in the ARCA/CRA
Super Series over a stout 33-car field. In addition, it was also his Fourth Career Overall
in Champion Racing Association (CRA) by JEGS competition and second in the ARCA/
CRA Super Series (Both at Lucas Oil Raceway).
In the JEGS/CRA portion of the Night of the Stars Twin 100s and after Fast Qualifier, Mike
Bursley drew the minimum invert of a three, Finley would start the race from the outside
of the front row and immediately took the lead away from pole-sitter, 14-year-old Jake
Griffin on the start and tried to pull away from the rest of the field. He would lead the first
64 laps before Bursley was finally able to get by. Finley held on for the runner-up showing.
"It was a good night for us. We led some laps and there's not a scratch on the car," The DeWitt, Michigan driver remarked after climbing out. "We were fast, but Mike (Bursley) was really good tonight. We had one more shot at him after the last caution there, but the car just got too tight." He added. Finley didn't leave LOR empty-handed as he collected the D.T.S. Drive Train Specialists Halfway Leader Award as well as the FLUIDYNE Cool Under Pressure Award for his efforts.
The ARCA/CRA Super Series portion of the Night of the Stars Twin 100s Finley would capture the pole yet again but the night didn't go as well for Finley who drew a six for an inversion. On lap 47 of the main, the rear end of his machine was starting to chatter so Finley, not wanting to hurt the car anymore than it potentially already was, pulled his machine onto pit road and called it a night. He was credited with a 29th place finish. "It's part of the game, we were fast, but the rear end is still having issues, so we'll get it back to the shop and look it over and be ready for Georgia in the couple of weeks." He ended.
Finley and the CFR Team will be making the long trip south to Gresham Motorsports Park, located northeast of Atlanta in Jefferson, Georgia for the 30th annual World Crown 300 on Saturday, August 10th as Finley will make his first ever appearance with the Southern Super Series in one of the inaugural tour's most prestigious races on its 2013 schedule.
For the remainder of the 2013 racing season, all of Finley's #42 Port City Racecars Chevrolets will carry sponsorship decals on each from Auto Value Parts Stores & Certified Service Centers as well as G-Oil / GETG.com , AutoParts2020.com, XLT Engineering, NorthsideTowing.net, The Air Lift Company, McGunegill Engine Performance, Bassett Racing Wheels, Affordable Tire & Service, Bosch Spark Plugs, Hyperco Suspension, Maurer’s Textiles, Superior Racing Images and M.P.H.
