Co-ARCA/CRA Super Series Points Leader 19-Year-Old Travis Braden Heading To Favorite Track; Winchester
Hot off of a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Win at Berlin Raceway (Special from Travis Braden Motorsports)
June 28, 2013
Wheeling, WV (June 28, 2013) – By only looking at the ARCA/CRA Super Series
Powered by JEGS Points Standings, you would think that Travis Braden is having a
banner 2013 racing season. After all, he has acquired a partnership with West Virginia
University and sports the colors of his college. Plus, he's leading the points for the first
time in his career, even if he is sharing that points lead with Inaugural Series Champion
(1997), Kenny Tweedy.

If that wasn't enough, he paid his first visit to victory lane after sweeping the entire
program by earning the Fast Qualifier Award and winning the Berlin 100 Presented by
Boyne Machine Company & JEGS.com back on June 14th in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars
Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance portion of the Inaugural Battle at Berlin
Weekend at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. What he wanted though was the win in
the Battle at Berlin 251 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series, which was the first jewel in the
$100,000 JEGS Triple Crown Series.

"It was quite a weekend even though we didn't get the best result Saturday night. The
JEGS/CRA car was absolutely perfect from the time we unloaded. It was one of those
days when everything went exactly how you want. Led every practice, broke track record, and led almost every lap." The Wheeling, West Virginia driver stated.

On Saturday for the 251 and considering how good his JEGS/CRA car was, the Travis Braden Motorsports Team made the decision to park their ARCA/CRA ride and run the JEGS/CRA entry in the 251. "The super series car was actually a bit slower, so we decided to stick with the JEGS/CRA car for Saturday. It was just as dominant in practice and in qualifying we knew we made the right decision since we qualified second quick right behind Johnny VanDoorn." He explained.

On the pace laps, a coil wire that was mistakenly left unplugged in Qualifying Tech forced Braden to pit before the green flag even came out. During the wave lap, the team fixed the issue and sent the 19-year-old back out, but he would have to start at the back of the pack in 32nd. "It was actually kind of fun driving up through the field, but it would prove costly as we would lose a lap, then get it back, only to lose another one under pit stops. We would get that lap back also but not until late in the race where there was simply too many back to back cautions to get up to the front." Braden said.

Now the Mountaineer State driver will head to his favorite track on the schedule, the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana on Saturday, June 29th for the Winchester 100, the fourth race of the season for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and also the sight of his first career CRA victory back in October 2011, also in a JEGS/CRA event.

"My favorite track and also one where we have had huge success, we look to get our first win finally in the super series. Our only worry is that we will be driving the car that was not as fast at Berlin, but our hopes are that we have gotten it faster than the JEGS car." He continued. "With only two extremely short and inconvenient practices the focus will be on qualifying up front and using track position to come home in the front and hopefully with the win." Braden ended.
