Jay Niewiek Hopes For Repeat Performance From Last October At Winchester Speedway
Finished Fifth in Last Years' Winchester 400 (Special from Jay Niewiek Motorsports)
June 27, 2013
Cutlerville, MI (June 27, 2013) – During the 41st running of the Winchester 400 on October
14, 2012 at the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester
Speedway in Winchester, Indiana, Jay Niewiek left the hallowed speed plant with an
impressive fifth place finish against a talent laden field as the Cutlerville, Michigan driver
made many on lookers know that he had arrived in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered
by JEGS.

Since then though, other than a couple of top 10 finishes, Niewiek has not been able to
capitalize on that showing at Winchester last October in five races since. The 20-year-old
hopes to turn his season around at the same race track where he impressed so many as
a return trip to the historic Eastern Indiana track is next on the schedule on June 29th in
the running of the Winchester 100.

"We're looking forward to Winchester. Dave Sensiba is now crew chiefing the car." Stated
Niewiek as he announced a change in the program. "We're going to be a little down on
power because we are running our crate motored car we normally race in the JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour. Our primary car is still being repaired from our crash at Berlin (Raceway
during the Inaugural Battle at the Beach 251) "It's going to hurt us in qualifying, but the race shouldn't be that awful. Hoping for a good run to stay in the points." He added.

Going into the fourth ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS points race of 2013, Niewiek, the Three-Time Cometic Gaskets Hard-Charger of the Year Award Winner in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS is sitting an impressive third place in the season long points standings despite his struggles and is only 16 markers out of the points lead currently being shared by Travis Braden and Kenny Tweedy.

At Berlin back on June 15th Niewiek was involved in a multi-car chain reaction accident on lap 137 that left him with a disappointing 29th place showing. "We struggled. We were holding our own in the race when we got caught up in some else's mess and wrecked the car pretty good. But with the time off after our next race we will be alright and get stuff back together." He ended.
