Grand Rapids, Michigan (June 12, 2013) – If there's one weekend that KBR Development has been looking forward to all
season long, it's the Inaugural Battle at Berlin 251 Weekend at their home track of Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. Wes
Griffith Jr., will compete in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance race; the Berlin 100 Presented
by Boyne Machine Company & JEGS.com on Friday, June 14th.
Then all focus will shift towards Brian Campbell in the headlining race of the weekend, the Inaugural Battle at Berlin 251 on
Saturday, June 15th as the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS third race of the season will also serve as the first
jewel in the $100,000 JEGS Triple Crown Series as a potential $100,000 is up for grabs to the driver who can win all three legs
of the series.
After the Battle at Berlin 251, the Triple Crown continues with the continues with the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in
Anderson, Indiana on July 20th and concludes with the 42nd running of the Winchester 400 on October 13th. If a driver can
win all three races, they will get a whopping $100,000 bonus. If someone can win two of the three Triple Crown events that
driver will receive a $10,000 bonus. If no driver wins two of the Triple Crown events, the driver who accumulates the most
points during those three events will receive a $5,000 bonus and the title of Champion of the JEGS/CRA $100,00 Super Late
Model Triple Crown.
"We're excited to head home to Berlin and race in this big 251 weekend, it is shaping up to be a huge event." Campbell
remarked. "We raced a couple of weeks ago to get the car dialed in and were fast, even led the first 19 laps until rain
postponed the remainder of the event." The Wyoming, Michigan veteran added.
When this event was known as the Rowdy 251, Campbell was the only driver to beat
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star, Kyle Busch in the race named for him. Campbell scored
the victory in 2009 before Busch rallied to score the next three triumphs. "We're hoping to
get our name on the trophy again, have a few wins to get caught up to Kyle in this event,
he has pretty much dominated it the last three years." The 34-year-old said.
As for Griffith Jr., he is coming off of a rough race in the Dixie 100 Presented by
JEGS.com at Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan on June 7th. After qualifying
eighth and starting from the outside of the fourth row, the Crown Point, Indiana driver was
caught up in a wreck not of his own doing and had to battle an ill handling racecar the
rest of the race in posting a 14th place finish. He did advance some position in the points
as he is now eighth heading to Berlin.
"Another car spun in front of us while we were running fourth, so we patched up the car
as best as we could." Explained the 45-year-old explained. "Again, we were at the right
place at the wrong time and got caught up in a little melee there damaging our car, it was
a shame because we had a very good piece. We're very excited to go back to Berlin Raceway though, the home of Team KBR, this is sure to be a big weekend for us." He added.
For the Berlin weekend as well as the rest of the 2013 racing season, Campbell’s familiar and popular white #20 KBR Development / Ford Fusion will carry sponsorship decals from McGunegill Engine Performance as well as Port City Racecars, Penske Racing Shocks, Handy Wacks Products and M.P.H.
