Inaugural Battle At Berlin 251 Up Next For Ali Kern & Lorz Motorsports
Co-ARCA/CRA Super Series Rookie Points Leader Ready For Berlin (Special from Lorz Motorsports)
June 11, 2013
Midlothian, Illinois (June 11, 2013) – In what seems like an eternity since she last raced,
ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Co-Rookie of the Year Points Leader, Ali
Kern is fired up and ready for what is now the third race of the 2013 racing season, and
the biggest event of the year to date; the Inaugural Battle at Berlin 251 at Berlin Raceway
in Marne, Michigan on Saturday, June 15th. This event is also the first race in the
$100,000 JEGS Triple Crown Series.

"We're really looking forward to finally getting our Port City car on the track to promote
our sponsor, Crown Battery." Stated the Fremont, Ohio driver. "I haven't raced at Berlin
Raceway since 2010 when I was running my modified in the old USA Modified Touring
Series (Now Top Speed Fabrication Modifieds  Tour).  We ran there twice and that's the
year I won Rookie of the Year in that series.  Hopefully, I can repeat that ROTY
accomplishment in the ARCA/CRA Super Series in 2013." She added.

Kern and her Lorz Motorsports Team were supposed to run at Berlin back on May 11th,
but that race was postponed due to Mother Nature, to August 3rd. The next race on the
schedule was to be on June 1st at Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan,
but that race was also lost to the weather. The last time the 20-year-old was on the race track was back on May 4th at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana in a race that, ironically, was rescheduled due to a rain out, where she finished 10th.

"The Lorz Motorsports Team is ready to go again. The car is ready, the team is ready, our driver Ali Kern is really ready  to get this race in." Added Lorz Motorsports Car Owner, Mike Lorz. "This weather has killed us over the last month. I hope we don’t see any for a while so we can get this season rolling. This is a big race for us and long race also with live pit stops. We are ready for the challenge." Lorz added.

Lorz and the crew are no strangers to the fast 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval having made numerous appearances over the years at the speed plant located West of Grand Rapids, Michigan. "Berlin is a tough track for drivers that do not race there every weekend. Ali has done excellent job for us this year. I am very happy with the performance of our team and driver this year. we need to get racing again that’s all I got to say. Way too much time off." He ended.

So far in two events within the 2013 racing season, its Kern and Anderson Bowen tied on top of the Rookie Points Standings with Brandon Oakley only eight markers back with still a long way to go in the current season. But Kern and the Lorz team are very optimistic about their chances as she knows it’s going to be a long battle that could potentially come down to the last race; the 42nd running of the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 13th.

"We feel like we're in a really good place with Lorz Motorsports.  They're an experienced, hard working group and the communication between our two teams has been excellent." Kern continued. " We know this upcoming event is loaded with talented drivers but we're up for the challenge!  We do plan on getting a lot of practice laps in before Saturday when we run 251 laps." She ended.
