Brian Campbell and Team KBR Coming Home To Berlin Raceway This Saturday, May 11th
Home Track Favorite hopes to continue mastery over ARCA/CRA Super Series in Marne, Michigan (Special from Team KBR)
May 8, 2013
Grand Rapids, Michigan (May 8, 2013) – There’s nothing like coming home to your home track for any driver anywhere in the country. In the case of Brian Campbell and the KB Development Team, that takes on an extra special meaning when the team rolls into their home away from home; the historic 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Berlin Raceway, located west of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan.

The Tri-State Collector Car Appraising 125 Presented by T.A.A.G. Incorporated, the third race of the 2013 racing season for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS is this Saturday, May 11th and it’s in ARCA/CRA competition where Campbell is one of the, if not the top threat to win every time the Salem, Indiana based series makes the trip north to the historic fairgrounds oval. Campbell has 10 career ARCA/CRA wins with exactly half of those five triumphs coming at Berlin.

“It’s always good to come home. Berlin is where some of the best drivers in country got their start and we’ve been very fortunate to have the success we’ve had there,” the Wyoming, Michigan native stated. “Berlin isn’t easy to get around the first couple of times you race there. But if you’ve grown up there and turn enough laps, you can definitely figure the place out. But it takes a lot patience that’s for sure.” The 34-year-old added.

It is at Berlin where Campbell, the 2011 Budweiser Super Late Models Series Champion, is the strongest as he is the only driver in the four year history of the Rowdy 251, an ARCA/CRA Super Series sanctioned event featuring NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star, Kyle Busch to actually defeat Busch in the race as he was the winner in the first edition of the event in 2009. Busch has since rallied to win the last three events adorning his nickname.

In addition, beginning with the 2013 season, the Rowdy 251 is now the first jewel in the JEGS Triple Crown Series for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS with a potential $100,000 going to the driver who can win all three legs of the series. After the Rowdy 251, the second race is the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana on July 20th and the final leg of the series is the prestigious Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana on October 13th.

Any driver who can win two of the three Triple Crown events will receive a $10,000 bonus.  If no driver wins two of the Triple Crown events, the driver who accumulates the most points during those three events will receive a $5,000 bonus as the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series JEGS $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown Series Champion. “That is a lot of money out there for someone if they can pull it off. I’m hoping we can start that deal off right and win the Rowdy in June. We’ll try and chase after that, especially if we can pull off the Rowdy win.” Campbell ended.

For the rest of the 2013 racing season, Campbell’s familiar white #20 KBR Development / Ford Fusion will carry sponsorship decals from McGunegill Engine Performance as well as Port City Racecars, Penske Racing Shocks, Handy Wacks Products and M.P.H. Promotions.
