Jay Niewiek Looking to Rebound From Rough Start In 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Season At Anderson
9th Place Finish at Berlin in Super Late Models Series gives Niewiek momentum (Special from Jay Niewiek Motorsports)
May 1, 2013
Cutlerville, Michigan (May 1, 2013) – After a start to the 2013 racing season in the ARCA Racing Series Powered by JEGS at Toledo Speedway on April 20th in the Border Wars 7-Up 150 where Jay Niewiek was involved in an accident that relegated him to a 26th place finish, Niewiek returned his home track of Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan in the tracks Budweiser Super Late Models Series and came home with a ninth place finish in the 75-lap main.
Now Niewiek and the Jay Niewiek Motorsports Team will get back into ARCA/CRA mode with the rescheduled Sell It Again Sam 125 Presented by Great Deals Magazine on Saturday, May 4th at the fast ¼ (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana. This event was originally scheduled for April 13th, but unusually cold weather forced series and track officials to postpone the race.
“We’re excited to be going to Anderson. The real season starts now since the Toledo show was a combination event,” stated the 19-year-old who will turn 20 on May 21st. “Everyone that is running for the Championship is running this race and we’re excited about that. Anderson is a tough track and we seem to have a lot of bad luck there. But hopefully this weekend we can turn that all around.” He added.
The Three-Time Hard-Charger of the Year Award Winner in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS is hoping that his solid finish at Berlin will give him the momentum he needs to launch into a successful run at the ARCA/CRA title. “I hope that we got all of the bad luck out of the way now with the problems we had at SpeedFest in January and the crash at Toledo.” The Cutlerville, Michigan driver continued. “Now we can hopefully focus on getting some top fives, earning some points and maybe even get a win or two.” He ended.
For the remainder of the 2013 racing season Niewiek will make a run at the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Championship while also making as many appearances as the schedule allows in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance. In addition, he’ll also run select races at his home track of Berlin Raceway (MI) in the facilities’ seven-race Budweiser Super Late Models Series.
Throughout the remainder of the 2013 racing season, both of Niewiek’s blue #84 Ford Fusions will carry sponsorship decals on the side of each car from; Michigan CAT of Grand Rapids as well as T.A.A.G. Incorporated, Cordes Trucking, TerryTownRV.com, Precision Property Management, and M.P.H. Promotions.
