First Event of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown

Salem, Indiana (May 15, 2013) – ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS officials have released the entry form for the Fifth Annual Berlin 251 at Berlin Raceway, which will be held on Saturday, June 15th. This event has grown into one of the top Template Super Late Model Events in the country. Berlin Raceway officials have made a significant increase in the purse for this year’s event, the payout could be close to $100,000 total for the event, with the potential purse payout and bonuses put up by Berlin Raceway. The event will pay $15,000 to win, $10,000 for second, down to $1500 to start for a 30 car field. There will also be $20 per lap in lap leader bonus money, which adds another $5020 to the purse payout.

The Berlin 251 is the first leg in the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown. The other events include the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 on July 20 at Anderson Speedway and the Winchester 400 on October 13th at Winchester Speedway. If a single driver can win all three events, they will receive a $100,000 cash bonus from JEGS. If there is a driver that just wins two of the events, they will receive a $10,000 cash bonus. If there is a different winner for all three events, the driver with the best overall finishes between the three events will receive a $5000 bonus.

As in the past, the order of paid entries received for the Berlin 251 by CRA will be the qualifying order for the event from last to first, i.e. the first driver entering will be the last driver to qualify. For the first time the event is a points race for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. Berlin Raceway officials have added some different procedures for this event then in the past, the field will start straight up from qualifying and the event will be a ten tire max event with all live pit stops. Per CRA rules teams can only change a max of two tires per caution period.

Berlin Raceway officials have also added a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet 100 lap race to the event, which will take place on Friday, June 14th. There will be an open practice for the Berlin 251 cars that day and the Berlin Raceway Port City Racecars Big Show Outlaw Late Models will also be in action Friday night giving fans two great nights of late model racing on the tricky 7/16 mile oval located in Marne, Michigan.
