Greenfield, IN (April 3, 2013) – It’s been a long winter of preparation for Damon Ecoff and the Ecoff Motorsports Team. The 20-year-old, who has raced primarily in the ARCA/CRA Super Series as well as the Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman Series in recent years, is looking to venture out a little more and explore more of the country in 2013 and it all begins this Saturday, April 6th.
Ecoff and crew will make the trek to the historic Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee for the Inaugural Southern Super Series event; the Nashville 125. An expected stacked field of competitors are looking to make the journey to the famed 0.596 mile high-banked paved oval and Ecoff is hoping to bring the first ever event win in the new series back home to Greenfield, Indiana.
"Wow, I can't believe the 2013 season is here, I'm really looking forward to it. I think we've come a long way as a team. We really have a good combination of knowledge and ability.” Stated Ecoff as he and the team make final preparation before heading down to the Volunteer State. “I feel fortunate that PGG Enterprises has continued to support us as a sponsor for this season. We also have acquired Lucas Oil Products as a sponsor for the 2013 season.” He added.
“Nashville wasn't a hard choice to pick for our first race.” Ecoff continued. “It reminds me of Winchester and Lucas Oil Raceway combined together. I can't wait to get there!" As for the rest of the season, his 2013 plans include select races in the ARCA/CRA Super Series as well as the ARCA Midwest Tour and several more Southern Super Series events scattered throughout the year.
Damon Ecoff ran on a limited basis during the 2012 racing season in an effort to focus more on the bigger events that were scattered throughout the season. In those limited appearances, he finished second in the 2nd annual Willy’s race at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana in his Late Model Sportsman machine. He also scored a pair of ninth place finishes at Winchester Speedway in ARCA/CRA Super Series competition including the 41st annual Winchester 400.
Ecoff began racing in the ARCA/CRA Super Series in 2009 where he finished fourth in the Rookie of the Year title chase and 13th overall in the points standings. In 2010 he made limited appearances in the Super Series while also racing in limited events with the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series as well as the Ken-Ten Pro Late Models Series.
A return on a full-time basis to the ARCA/CRA Super Series was in store for 2011 as he finished an impressive seventh in the season long points chase with three top 10 finishes including a season high sixth place showing at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana. He also finished ninth in the 2011 Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway in Opp, Alabama.
In addition, He has also enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series as in only four appearances in 2011 Ecoff recorded three event wins including two of those at Lucas Oil Raceway with a single victory coming at the legendary high-banks of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana.
For the 2013 racing season, Ecoff’s #15 Ecoff Motorsports / Ford Fusion will have sponsorship decals on the side from Lucas Oil Products as well as PGG Enterprises and M.P.H. Promotions.
