ARCA/CRA Super Series VS ARCA Midwest Tour Combo Race At Toledo Speedway Is Next For Chad Finley
First Ever Event Pitting Two Premier Series Set For Historic ½ Mile As Finley Looks For Redemption (Special from CFR)
April 18, 2013
DeWitt, MI (April 18, 2013) – Chad Finley and the Chad Finley Racing Team has had some time to prepare for their next race on the 2013 schedule which happens to be one of the biggest and most anticipated events in the Midwestern United States in recent memory. The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and the ARCA Midwest Tour will team up for their first ever combo race in the running of the 7-Up 150 on Friday-Saturday, April 19-20th at the historic ½ (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Toledo Speedway, located just south of the Michigan / Ohio state line in Toledo, Ohio.

In Finley’s last race, the 37th annual Rattler 250 at the fast 4/10s (0.400) mile semi-banked paved oval of South Alabama Speedway in Kinston (Opp), Alabama back on March 17th, Finley’s 21st birthday, the DeWitt, Michigan driver shattered the Track Record in Qualifying the day before and led the first 100 laps. After a round of pit stops, he ran second to eventual winner Kyle Benjamin before the second round of stops at lap 175. He again got to as high as fifth before the engine began losing power which forced him to come down pit road under green and his day was over.

“The Rattler showed that the new Port City car has a lot of speed. The balance was really good also. We broke a distributor down there that was heart breaking to say the least.” Explained Finley as he and the CFR Team continue preparation for Toledo. “We pulled the motor and Dewayne (McGunegill from McGunegill Engine Performance) went through it again and checked it over so we should be good to go.” He added.

As for the Border Wars 7-Up 150 at Toledo, Finley has high hopes of contending for a win even with a stacked 51-car field on the pre-entry list. “Our hopes are to pick up where we left off in Alabama and that's to find victory lane.” The 21-year-old continued. “I really like the race car and how it responds to changes. Butch (VanDoorn of Port City Racecars) and all the guys at Port City have been a tremendous help to us.”

Finley is no stranger to anything with the ARCA moniker attached to it. During the 2009-2010 seasons, he made 11 starts in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards for Brad Keselowski Racing and he made the most of those limited appearances. Finley scored One Pole Award (track Record) at Rockingham Speedway (NC) in 2009 as well as three Top Five finishes, all podium showings of third which came at Berlin Raceway (MI) in 2009, and at Pocono International Raceway (PA) and Rockingham in 2010.

“Anytime we get to run an ARCA sanctioned track we are excited. They run a top notch show and the facilities are awesome.” He added. “We all just need to do our jobs this weekend and everything should be fine. I have a really good feeling about this race. The best of the best will be there and we will be right there with them battling for a win.” Finley ended.

The 7-UP 150 will also feature live timing and scoring and live flag-to-flag streaming audio coverage at ARCAracing.com which begins Friday afternoon, April 19th and continues on Saturday, April 20th. ARCA Racing Network’s Charlie Krall and color commentator Tim Clagg will provide the audio coverage and you can also keep with the 7-UP 150 throughout the day at Speed51.com with their patented LIVE Trackside Now Coverage from Toledo Speedway.
