Quest For The 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Championship (Take 2) Starts For Jay Niewiek At Toledo
Border Wars 7-Up 150 to Bring ARCA/CRA and ARCA Midwest Tour together
April 16, 2013
Cutlerville, MI (April 16, 2013) – Three-Time Hard-Charger of the Year Award Winner in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, Jay Niewiek has been patiently waiting to resume his 2013 racing season and officially begin the chase for the 2013 series championship. That title chase was delayed by one week thanks to the postponement of the Saturday, April 13th at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana for the Sell It Again Sam 125 Presented by Great Deals Magazine to May 4th.

Now the 19-year-old and his entire Jay Niewiek Motorsports Team have re-shifted focus and have set their sights on the Border Wars 7-Up 150 at the historic ½ (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio as the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will go head to head with their counterparts from the ARCA Midwest Tour in the first ever combination race between the two Midwestern touring series’.

“We’ve got a new motor, the cars are ready to go and we’re just really excited to get the season started again,” The Cutlerville, Michigan driver remarked as final preparations continue before the trip to just south of the Michigan / Ohio state line. “We’ve got a new McGunegill Engine Performance motor ready to go and we’re looking forward to the big schedule and glad to have Michigan CAT on board.” He added in reference to new sponsor, Michigan CAT of Grand Rapids.

Niewiek is optimistic about his chances at a fast start to kick off the grueling 15-race schedule that makes up the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Championship title chase in Toledo, Ohio. “We’re just looking forward to getting the year going at one of the biggest races on the schedule to kick it off. Hopefully we start off strong right out of the gate and we come out of there with a solid finish.” Niewiek added.

For the remainder of the 2013 racing season and armed with that new Michigan CAT of Grand Rapids Sponsorship, Niewiek will make a run at the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Championship while also making as many appearances as the schedule allows in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance with the possibility of a full run at that title as well. In addition, he’ll also run select races at his home track of Berlin Raceway (MI) in the facilities’ seven-race Coors Light Silver Bullet Super Late Models Series.

“We’re hoping to get as much racing as possible in this year with ARCA/CRA, JEGS/CRA and our home track at Berlin,” He continued. “Definitely looking for a couple of wins and learning to qualify a lot better this year. That’s going to be the key to our success this season; Qualify better, start more towards the front instead of having to work so hard from the middle of the field or even farther back.” He ended.

Michigan CAT of Grand Rapids seeks to build on its past by continuously improving customer service and its business systems. If the company is to provide job security, above average compensation, and benefits to its employees, then it is imperative that Michigan CAT continues to be the dominant heavy equipment and engine dealer in its marketplace.
