Focus Shifts To Toledo Speedway and the Border Wars 7-Up 150 for Brian Campbell and KBR Development
Defending Race Winner to go head to head with the ARCA Midwest Tour
April 16, 2013
Grand Rapids, MI (April 16, 2013) – After a weekend in Nashville, Tennessee that he’d like to forget, Brian Campbell’s focus immediately shifts to one of his favorite tracks on the schedule, the ½ (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio for the first ever ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and ARCA Midwest Tour combined event; the Border Wars 7-Up 150 on Saturday, April 20th.

In his last race, the Music City 125 at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee for the Inaugural Southern Super Series event, Campbell was forced out of the event on just lap 14 after contact with another car sent him into the back stretch wall. “There’s no need to race that hard, that early in the race.” Explained the Campbell right after the race. “We had a good car and were moving forward and that happens. Not too happy about it.” He added at the time.

Now Campbell and the KBR Development Team will re-shift all of their focus on the historic ½ mile in the Buckeye State at a track where Campbell has enjoyed success. In 2012, when the race was an ARCA/CRA Super Series only event, Campbell withstood several strong challenges from fellow West Michigan standout, Johnny VanDoorn to score the popular victory.

“Toledo is a fun track. It’s fast and wow there is certainly a lot of entries,” Stated the 34-year-old. “We’ve ran with the majority of the teams entered at one time or another, but to have all of these strong teams together for one show; It’s going to be a challenge to defend our title in this race. But I know the KBR Development crew is up to the challenge and we’ll be there in the end.” He added.

In addition to select events within the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, the ARCA Midwest Tour and the Southern Super Series during the 2013 racing season, Campbell will also make several appearances in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance as well as at his home track of Berlin in the tracks’ Budweiser Super Late Models Series for Template Bodied Super Late Models.

It is at Berlin where Campbell, the 2011 Coors Light Super Late Models Series Champion, is the strongest as he is the only driver in the four year history of the Rowdy 251, an ARCA/CRA Super Series sanctioned event featuring NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star, Kyle Busch to actually defeat Busch in the race as he was the winner in the first edition of the event in 2009. Busch has since rallied to win the last three events adorning his nickname.

For the remainder of the 2013 racing season, Campbell’s familiar white #20 KBR Development / Ford Fusion will carry sponsorship decals on the side of his machine from McGunegill Engine Performance as well as Port City Racecars, Penske Racing Shocks, Handy Wacks Products and M.P.H. Promotions.
