Eighth Place Finish In Nashville Has Chad Finley Optimistic For The 46th Annual Snowball Derby
Pensacola, Florida to be the final road trip of 2013 for Chad Finley Racing (Special from Chad Finley Racing)
November 5, 2013
DeWitt, Michigan (November 5, 2013) – A good run in the 29th Running of the All-American
400 would pay big dividends for Chad Finley as the DeWitt, Michigan driver made the nine-
hour haul down to Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee for the ARCA/
CRA Super Series / Southern Super Series combination as one of the most prestigious
Super Late Model races in the country would prove that Finley's name belonged in the
same breath as the top Super Late Model drivers in the country.

After Qualifying 13th quick out of 45 cars, Finley would hang around in the top 15 for the
majority of the race biding his time for a run to the front in the 300-lap main. Despite
getting off sequence in pit stops just past the halfway point of the race that mired the
black & red #42 all the way back to the 24th position, the 21-year-old would rally back to
post an eighth place finish in his first ever appearance at the legendary oval located within
the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

"Getting off sequence really hurt us in the race. We got back in the pack and were
struggling with the car on two tires. Our plan all along was to take four tires as late as we
could, but unfortunately we didn't have the type of car we needed through the mid parts of
the race." The DeWitt, Michigan driver explained. "The tire was really hard and I think
many teams were struggling to make the proper adjustments. We got it fixed up there on
the last stop with 100 to go and were really able to drive up through the field fairly easy. Just when we got to eighth there with 20 to go we just ran out of tire and couldn't progress anymore." He added.

Finley and his Chad Finley Racing Team will now have about a month to prepare for the biggest short track event in the country; the 46th annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida on December 3-8th. It will be Finley's first ever attempt at cracking the field in the most prestigious pavement short track race in the world and after his consistent runs of late, he feels he is ready to take on the best the Super Late Models world has to offer in the biggest race of them all.

"We learned a ton at Nashville with the set up we took, I was fairly pleased with it. Obviously you always want to be better, I feel like we had a top five car at Nashville, but the chips just didn't fall our way down the stretch." The 21-year-old continued. "We're all excited and going to prepare and work hard for the Snowball Derby. It's such a prestigious race and words can't describe the evolving it can do for your career if you win the race. With that being said we're going to get ready and work harder and be ready for the Derby." Finley remarked.

In 14 overall starts during the 2013 racing season, Finley has collected two Wins, both in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance with those trips to victory lane coming at Columbus Motor Speedway (OH) on May 25th and at Springport Motor Speedway (MI) on September 14th. He also has collected five top five finishes and eight top 10 showings.

In addition to his race statistics, he also has two Track Records and three overall Fast Qualifier Awards during the year. His record breaking laps came at South Alabama Speedway (AL) on March 16th in his Super Late Model and at Columbus in the JEGS/CRA race which resulted in a clean sweep of that weekend. He also has a FQ Award in ARCA/CRA Super Series competition at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) back on July 26th.

"We're still building this race team so we are making progress that’s for sure.  Everyone is already committed for the 2014 season with us, so that will help us keep building CFR stronger and stronger and hopefully we can end the season with a strong showing at the Snowball Derby." Finley continued. "That race is the biggest one of the them all. The entire Motorsports Industry is watching that one. No matter what happens at the Snowball though, we'll continue to keep moving forward with CFR and we'll keep getting better." He ended
